Perfect for my needs,
This review is from: LifeSpan Fitness TR200 Fold-N-Stor Compact Treadmill (2011 Model) (Sports)
I live in a downtown condo and wanted something compact to fit into my spare bedroom / office. I was looking at this unit which I bought and an Evolve treadmill. Both treadmill dimensions allow for under the bed storage or in my case under my futon which is what I was looking for. I also was looking for something that I could do some fairly consistent walking 3- 4 days at 20-30 minutes...I am not a jogger or runner (BTW I would not see this unit being ideal for real heavy running use). I was looking for a treadmill that I could use my iPod with which both units do. It came down to (2) factors for me why I picked the TR 200. The first is that my unit has incline which the other unit does not...I use the incline a lot to burn more calories and mix up my walks. What is really nice is since I change the incline often I use the buttons on the console that I can go to a specific incline. The second and not as important was that the motor size is a little bit bigger than the other compact units I looked at. The treadmill is 100% assembled in the box...I cut the back end of the box and rolled the treadmill out so I did not have to lift the treadmill out of the box. I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this treadmill for those limited on space or for walkers.

I bought this treadmill and have it set up in my bedroom. I wanted a compact treadmill that I could keep in my bedroom so that it would not be "out of sight, out of mind"...the best part is that if I want I can fold the treadmill up and put it in my closet. Other things that I really enjoy with this treadmill is the console. It has the buttons that you can push that take you directly to the speed or incline that you want to be at. The console is easy to read and I like to watch my progress during my workout so the profile is nice, it is on the smaller side but is ample to show your status. It does come with program options but I have not used them yet as I just keep the treadmill in manual mode and adjust the speed and incline based on how I feel. The treadmill is very quiet and smooth when changing your mph's and it does allow you to make changes to a tenth of a mph. I typically am between 3-4 mph BUT note that this treadmill only goes up to 8 mph so if you need to go faster you should look at another treadmill.
Shipping information: the treadmill was delivered by ABF and I received a call 4 days after I ordered to schedule a delivery appointment. The treadmill was delivered to my garage and I had to get it in my house and upstairs into my bedroom. It really is as simple as this...take the box top off, remove the styrofoam and tear down the back of the box. Once this is done, you can lift the back of the treadmill and it rolls right out of the box and to where you want the treadmill. lift up the handlebars and lock them in, plug in the power cord, attach the safety key and push START...there is NO assembly whatsoever! AWESOME! Other comments...the treadmill does have speakers and they are what they are---nothing spectacular but they work. I have a iHOME in my room but if I want to adjust the volume or change the song I have to get off the treadmill so it is easier to plug my iPod into the treadmill and you can place the iPod into the magazine rack. It does have a speaker jack but I don't see me ever using these but it is there. Contact pulse grips are nice and I hang my towel on the handlebars.

I was looking for something that would not overtake our den and simply used for walking. (When we want it completely out of the way we have folded it flat and rolled it under the pool table.) We looked at the Evolve unit, Phoenix unit and utlimately decided on the TR 200 because it has incline and felt more comfortable with this brand with the online awards and reviews.
Their is no assembly which was great! We used a handtruck to get the unit down into the den --- SO I WOULD NOT GET ANY ADDITIONAL DELIVERY OR ASSEMBLY SERVICES. The speakers are just OK...sound is much better thru the headphones. The buttons to push to go to specific speeds and inclines are very nice. Very pleased with this unit. It is very quiet and also we are very surprised how sturdy and stable the treadmill. Woudl recommend this for anyone looking for a good quality walking treadmill or if you are limited on space.

When I first purchased this treadmill at the end of Nov 2009, I loved it. A little over 1 month later, however, it started to suddenly stop during a workout. Not a nice slow drift to a stop. A complete, unexpected dead stop. Luckily I was holding on the the handle bars at the time, and only had it at a walking speed of 3 mile/hr. But 3 mile/hr to 0 mile/hr in a fraction of a second with no warning can be jarring.
I'm well within the weight limitations for this treadmill, the belt is properly lubricated and adjusted, and I don't use it for longer than 30 minutes at a time. The manufacturer wasn't much help. Just told me to lubricate the belt and use it with a slight incline so the motor would have better airflow. After I lubricated the belt, it worked without the sudden stops for another month, but now it's started it's dead stops again. The manufacturer hasn't yet responded to my latest emails. Like another reviewer commented, the treadmill starts putting out a very strong odor after about 20 minutes. This odor is so bad that I sometimes have to open windows to air the room out. I thought maybe this was a breakin type of odor that would eventually go away, but it only has gotten worse with time. I'm really worried that my Dad's treadmill will also start having the same problem, and since he's 86, it could be deadly for him. His treadmill has the same odor problem as mine, which makes me worry that his will start stopping at some point. I've emailed amazon about returning my dad's and my treadmills, but I'm not optomistic that they will pay for return shipping after 3 months, especially when we don't have the original packaging. Looks like I might have a $700 doorstop on my hands.

This is a wonderful treadmill! It comes ready to use right out of the box with absolutely no assembly, is very well lubricated, and is quiet. The last treadmill I bought I had to assemble and that did not go well as many of the screws did not fit where they were supposed to, none of those problems here. It has a lot of programs that keep working out interesting. The power cord could be a bit longer however, but it works wonderfully and is very easy to fold to store upright. It is heavier than I expected, so moving it around (like storing it under a bed or in a closet) will not be possible for me. I am really thrilled with the product.
However, the delivery company, CEVA, was absolutely terrible! First of all, pay NO attention to the estimated delivery date, it only applies to when they expect to receive it into their warehouse and has nothing whatsoever to do with when it will be available to be delivered to the buyer. I wish I had known that from the start, amazon.com really needs to make that clear in their package tracking section. Secondly, although amazon.com can provide you with a phone number to contact CEVA, CEVA is only open from 8AM-4PM and I was disconnected often when their staff put me on hold. Thirdly, although you have to sign that you received the item in good condition, they do not even wait for you to open the box! They gave me no information on how to return it if it was damaged, so thank goodness it wasn't because you are supposed to cut the box open in order to roll out the treadmill. Supposedly, they call you when the item is available to be delivered but they never called me, I had to call them. I would highly recommend the treadmill, but don't expect to receive it in any less than 2 weeks.

I purchased this treadmill in April 2010. Like other reviewers I started to notice a smell shortly after purchase. I too assumed it was new and didn't worry. Approximately 3 months after I purchased the treadmill, I was walking one day and the unit just stopped. It is very dangerous. There is no slowing and no warning. It just stopped. Luckily I was holding on and was not injured.
I use the treadmill approximately 5 to 6 hours per week. I weigh 180 pounds and normally walk at 3.5 miles per hour. I contacted Amazon and was told it had passed the 30 day window and they would not refund my money. I was told to contact LifeSpan. I contacted Lifespan and was again told my money would not be refunded. As I spoke to the customer service person at LifeSpan I explained my usage of the unit and was told that at 180 pounds and at 3.5 mph I was using the treadmill for more than it was designed. I was also told my weekly usage was excessive. The company is sending a new motor upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6 horsepower and a replacement belt. In my opinion customer service at LifeSpan is somewhat lacking. I have little hope the motor and belt are going to fix the problem. Make sure you do your research before you buy this treadmill. And please be careful if you buy it.

I've had this treadmill for one year now and am pleased with it overall. For the first several months I used it daily; now I've added other equipment to my home gym and use it every third day or so.
It came completely assembled (nice!). The instructions advise using belt oil before first use but none is included, so be sure to order a bottle when you order your treadmill. You'll need it anyway, as it is important to keep treadmill belts oiled to keep the motor from being overworked. Construction is solid for a machine of this class (folding/portable). After the first couple months of use I noticed the rubber on one of the rear feet had started coming apart - apparently I didn't have it fully level (uneven wooden floor) and the movement started tearing the rubber. I contacted Lifespan to purchase a replacement foot and they sent me a new one at no charge. Excellent customer service! The control panel is easy to use. It has 6 pre-set programs, each with 3 levels of difficulty, or you can create your own custom program. Has a jack to plug in your iPod; speaker quality is not great but acceptable for what it is. Every once in a while (4 or 5 times in the past year) the control panel goes a little wacky when it is first turned on, but each time was resolved by just turning off then on again. I've also had the "safety key" wiggle a bit out of place and that will also prevent the unit from powering on correctly (also easily fixable). When I purchased this treadmill I thought I might fold it up for storage on a regular basis, but as it turns out I just leave it up all the time, so can't comment on the durability of that feature. Having done research before this purchase, I will say this machine receives high ratings for its class and I feel it is a very good buy. Lifespan has given me great customer service.

I researched treadmills for several months before I decided on this one after reading multiple reviews. I ordered it January 17 and it was delivered January 23. The delivery company CEVA called to schedule an appointment. I asked for Saturday delivery between 8 and 2pm. They called to make sure I was home and it was delivered by 0830 Saturday morning. The delivery crew delivered it to our basement. My husband and I pulled it out of the box, read a few instructions, set it up, and I tried it out for a 30-minute workout. So far it is just what I wanted and more. I am looking forward to trying out all the workouts. I want the treadmill for walking and it is perfect for me. May 1, 2010. Four weeks ago the treadmill stopped suddenly and no longer works. I contacted LifeSpan who has promised to send a new motor and belt. As of now the parts are on backorder. Still hopeful that it will be corrected. I loved the treadmill up to the moment it quit. May 31, 2010. My treadmill is working very well. The motor was replaced under warranty, and now everything is good. Working better than before the repair.

After having a baby. I needed something that will allow me to stay with in distance of my child. Without having to take my child out onto the cold elements. It folds perfectly out of sight out of mind. It's definitely worth the money for having something so compact and sleek. I have a height of 5'4 and I have no problem running on the treadmill, it has plenty of space for running as well. No Complaints Here!

My wife and I want to get a treadmill to have regular cardiovascular exercise in our bedroom. We are not runners so we do not need a treadmill that goes faster than 10 minutes per mile. Since our bedroom is upstair, we need a treadmill that we can move around easily ourselves. Also, we are not handy so we were concerned about spending too much time to put the treadmill together. LifeSpan TR200 fits all our needs. It is light enough that we can move it upstair no problem. It came already assembled and minimal work to get it started. This treadmill looks much better than the picture, very stylish and sturdy. The only wish I have is if it were 6 inches wider.
