I bought this from Costco in November as a limited time Black Friday offer and they no longer have on their site to review so I am posting my review here. The bike arrived via UPS which was nice and took roughly an hour from unpacking to fully built. Directions were easy enough, tools were included however they were what you would expect with FREE tools for assembly. The bike is solid and has nice seat and handlebar adjustments. The resistance knob is easy to set and it has the quick stop where you just press the know all the way down to stop the wheel...I learned the hard way, I am a newbie to spinning, and my back of the calf found out what happens when you try to just stop pedaling!!! For other newbies, it is not like a street bike where you can coast, the pedals keep moving and in my case hit me in the back of the leg. Now I know, either slow down or use the STOP knob. The bike is easy to move around with the rollwer wheels in the front and the seat is padded and comfortable. My seat did have a gash in the side, which I could not tell was from shipping, assembly or before but spoke with customer service and they had a new seat out to me in a week. I am sure that you can spend more money and get a club bike but for me this was a great place to start and very pleased 5 months later.

I got this bike from Woot Sports for $220. I was very surprised at how solidly built the spin bike is at this price point. I probably wouldn't have been upset spending $400. No issues with out of the saddle pedaling. The handle bars were a little wobbly at the highest setting, but solid one notch down. The adjustments are pretty good. It would be nice to have more of a friction lock rather than a notch for the saddle forward-back position, just to have one fine adjustment for the saddle to pedal relationship. I was able to find a comfortable setting.

A couple big pluses. It uses a saddle with standard saddle rails. This is huge in my opinion. For one, the saddle is one of the bigger wear items on this kind of exercise equipment. You can also put your own saddle on this thing. The bike comes with a standard wide and cushy saddle that inexperienced riders consider comfortable. Off that thing goes. Replaced with a reasonable road saddle I've used on a real bike. It also uses standard bike pedals. The ones that come in the kit are cheap plastic pedals, which is fine since I only used them for the initial test ride. Off they go, replaced with a set of SPD pedals. Even the water bottle cages is standard. This is all great stuff if you're an outdoor cyclist, looking for something to use when you don't have time to ride outside.

The only real negative to this point is lack of fine adjustment for saddle to pedal relationship. Not a problem if you're not sensitive to that adjustment. The wobbly bars at the top setting is also an issue if you need the bars very high. Something to consider if you have back issues.

When we tried to put this together, the seat base got stuck. It slipped in a few inches and then would not budge in either direction. I called customer service who suggested a silicone spray. I had to hunt to find one, but it did not work. On a second call to customer service, I was advised that there was a defective piece which would be mailed to me. Then a service person would come to fix it. I did not receive notification that the piece had been mailed for almost a week. It then took another week for the piece to arrive. It came on a Wednesday, 3 weeks after the delivery of the bike. On Thursday, I got a call from a service person; I gave him 4 possible time slots we would be available. He said he would check his schedule and call me back later that day. No call. I called Friday morning and left a message. No call back. I then called customer service and asked them to facilitate the process. He stated he would cancel this order and call someone else to make the repair. I asked if I would be called on Monday. He replied that it would take several days before I would get the call, never mind the appointment. I guess he doesn't understand the meaning of the word "facilitate". I pointed out to him that although I had paid for this bike nearly a month ago, I had not gotten to use it even once. Apparently, making the situation right in a prompt and timely manner is not a priority of this company. This lackadaisical attitude does not exactly bespeak pride in the company's products. This certainly leaves me with the impression that the company itself has a rather low opinion of their own products.

After getting off the phone, I realized that no one was going to make this repair before the 30 day return period was up. I called Amazon and they were great.

Well, I love to take spin classes but cannot always get there with the joys of day to day life. So, in honor of Mother's Day, I bought myself this spin bike, shoes, and clips. The bike is very comfortable and sturdy. I had no problem putting it together, either. The only negatives are that the resistance is very sensitive so when you go to apply it, you only need to move it slightly unlike the gym quality ($1200) spin bikes. Also, the with the added resistance the bike squeaks so you are having to pull up on the knob to get it to stop. And, the pedals are not made for clips, so you will have to purchase separate pedals if you want to use your spin shoes. Overall, it is a good buy for the money and home use so that is why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
