4.0 out of 5 stars This should solve the problem!!!
I purchased this table and chairs for my 3 year old twins. Just the other day for some reason one of the chairs were upside down I noticed a little plastic plug that unscrews and comes out. Well, I found out that the chairs can be filled with a little sand so that way they can not tip over anymore. My twins were both falling off the chairs everytime they would go to get...

3.0 out of 5 stars I Wish I'd Tried it BEFORE Buying it!
We bought this table set because it matched the Lifestyle Deluxe Kitchen we bought for our 2-yr-old for Christmas. It is very pretty & looks so nice with the kitchen. However, the chairs will not stay up! My daughter has another table set from Ikea, and the chairs are very stable & sturdy. These chairs are so narrow & top-heavy. She keeps flipping over. However, the chairs will not stay up! My daughter has another table set from Ikea, and the chairs are very stable & sturdy. These chairs are so narrow & top-heavy. She keeps flipping over. My nieces and nephews all have flipped over in them, too. I'm sending it back & getting something else. I don't want to have to worry that she's going to get hurt. It's looks are just not worth risking my daughter's safety to me!

Well, I found out that the chairs can be filled with a little sand so that way they can not tip over anymore. My twins were both falling off the chairs everytime they would go to get on them, but now with the sand holding the chair down they are a little more stable. I hope this helps everyone that has this set. I am pretty happy with this table now!

4.0 out of 5 stars very worthwhile purchase, October 20, 2005

Our 3-1/2 year daughter uses this table for just about
everything. She has been using it for over a year now.
It took some effort/care/strength to put together, but it
remains very sturdy/strong. No wobbles. We bought it during
a good sale, so it was money well spent. Chairs are stable
on our wood floor, so we haven't really noticed tipping as
a problem. Yes if you lean and put all your weight on the
side edge of the seat, you will probably cause it to fall
over. It is probably not the best choice for the very yoing
since the set is just a bit higher/taller than others, so if
a small child needs to struggle onto the chair, they may not
have the sense of balance to keep it upright. But we wanted
something that is not easily outgrown and could be used for
a long time. Handling these chairs has never been a big issue
with her. In fact she uses them to climb everywhere that she
shouldn't. I observe the chairs can be opened, to add sand I
presume, for those that want to make them more bottom heavy.
The set is light enough to easily move anywhere we need it.
No matter what kind of mess is made, it's easy to clean up.
Her play-dates also seem to be quite comfortable using it.
The drawer is worthless for storage, it will fall out since
who ever heard of a kid pulling out a drawer only half way.
I am quite satisfied. Nothing else was worth consideration.
A few nitpicks, the table top could be a bit bigger, the chair
legs could have been thicker, the drawer could have a stopper.

We purchased this table for our 2 and 4 yr. old boys. The table was difficult to assemble as the holes for the screws do not line up correctly. When we finally got it together we found it to be very unstable. The chairs are too tall, and fall over easily. The legs come out of the table making it completely unusable. Our boys haven't touched it in months. This table is a huge disappointment.

We purchased this for my 1 year old and she loves it. We have no problem with the chairs tipping. She actually climbs on them to sit. She loves to open and close the little drawer. I will be buying another set for my sun room, so during the summer she can get lunch out there. I also purchased the kitchen set and matching toy bin both excellent items!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best choice, July 6, 2005
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: LifeStyle Dining Room Table & Chairs Set (Toy)
I try to buy the best choice whenever I select a toy. This table is attractive and easy to clean. Unfortunately it turns out I did not make the best choice because it is a bit too tall for it's proportions. My 20 month old wants to color, make play dough, set up tea sets, and sometimes climb on the table. A lower or larger table might be better for these activities. Unfortunately this table is really only good for careful activities or else it may flip over. Also it is too small a surface area for most activities. The chairs are too tall proportionately also, which means they are easy to flip. If I could start over, I would select a low, square, steady table.

I really liked the idea of this table set - but when we got it home for my busy 20-month old, he had problems sitting in and keeping the chair upright. Just watching him manuver in the chair concerned me so much I put the chairs back in the box. I plan to take the set back.

3.0 out of 5 stars Chairs tip over, November 13, 2005

We received this as a gift when my daughter was 2. This set is not designed for a 2-year old. The chairs are much too narrow and high, and tip over very easily. My daughter is now almost 3 and still can't very effectively get in the chair by herself. She has hurt herself several times trying to get in or out of the chair and having it tip over on her. On a good note, however, the set is sturdy and nearly invincible.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hoping chair suggestion works!, August 27, 2006

As I read several comments before writing my own out of curiosity, I see most everyone has the same issue. These lovely chairs pretty much injure any child who touches them in some way shape or form. I do love the set overall in practicality, ease of cleaning, and have had no problems with it for over 2 years, and my son is now 4 - still loving it! (other than the chair issue...) He has mastered using the set carefully, but we monitor anyone under the age of 3 on or near the chairs as they always get clobbered with them or fall off them. I am hoping the suggestion of adding sand to the inside works...I will attempt that project in the near future! Best of luck in your purchase!

i bought this table and chair set for my 2 year old son. I have a few problems with it, first of all the chairs are horrible they tip over very easily my son has fallen off a few times.. Second problem the drawer pulls all the way out why would you make it that way????? And last but not least the top of the table raised up making it uneven... If I still had the box I would return this product in a heartbeat.... save your money...... After i wrote this review i contacted step 2 and they were very helpful. They sent me out a new table top and two new chairs, which they claimed to have revised... we will see what happens
