5.0 out of 5 stars A Rare Insight to a Mysterious World, August 5, 2003
By
Sean Farrell (Charlotte, NC United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Lifeboat Sailors (Paperback)
This book offered a rare and informative insight into the world of US Coast Guard lifeboat stations and the sailors that man them. It gave great first hand insights into the day to day operations of a lifeboat station and a very informative history of the stations from the early days of the lifesaving service to the modern lifeboat station. A great read and a must for anyone in or wanting to be in the US Coast Guard!!!!!!

I thought this was a very good book if you're interested in the history of Coast Guard small boat stations. The action takes place mostly on the US West Coast.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank You Dennis Noble, February 16, 2009

I would like to thank Dennis Noble and his crew for their bravery. Tragedies like the Rain Song would be far worse if it wasn't for the courage of people like him. Having lost someone on that boat, reading the accounts of the rescue has helped me to understand what happened that day. This book was very well written.
