Wonderful as usual,

Jesu just gets better with each release. Walls of guitar tweaked to perfection. I like that Justin is trying new things & moving in a forward direction instead of just remaking the same album over & over again. If this is a taste of the next album then I cant wait.

Decent release,

In a world where bands put out a release every 2 years, it's nice to see bands put out a few releases a year. My view is the more Jesu the better...Having said that- here's my thoughts...After being slightly disappointed with what basically is the "Why We Aren't Perfect" EP- I was a bit more relieved hearing Lifeline. Let me explain- I don't mind Jesu finding time to experiment with "Dream Pop" like soundscapes like My Bloody Valentine on that EP but I found the tracks to be less memorable and meandering. While this EP has some of those familiar 'meanderings' of that EP- I also hear the Heaviness of Silver making its way on here. The result is a nice balence of melody and heaviness- with beatiful production. The 4 song EP also has a cameo in the form of female vocalist Jarboe (better knowned for work as a solo artist and work with avante legends the Swans) the results make for an interesting listen. (Sadly the side project J2 is aimless and not nearly as interesting.) Overall I found this EP to be both dreamy, at times catchy and hypnotic at the same time being heavy. Decent, but NOT the best Jesu.

This ep is really beautiful! I love everything from Jesu and this is no exception. I understand the criticism about track 3 but it's really grown on me. There are vocal things happening here that seem to be firsts for Jesu. Justin Broadrick is only getting better. It's a little expensive to buy the cd. I went with the mp3's and it's less than 99cents a track! Damn good music.
