Wonderful as usual,

Jesu just gets better with each release. Walls of guitar tweaked to perfection. I like that Justin is trying new things & moving in a forward direction instead of just remaking the same album over & over again. If this is a taste of the next album then I cant wait.

Decent release,

In a world where bands put out a release every 2 years, it's nice to see bands put out a few releases a year. My view is the more Jesu the better...Having said that- here's my thoughts...
After being slightly disappointed with what basically is the "Why We Aren't Perfect" EP- I was a bit more relieved hearing Lifeline. Let me explain- I don't mind Jesu finding time to experiment with "Dream Pop" like soundscapes like My Bloody Valentine on that EP but I found the tracks to be less memorable and meandering. While this EP has some of those familiar 'meanderings' of that EP- I also hear the Heaviness of Silver making its way on here. The result is a nice balence of melody and heaviness- with beatiful production. The 4 song EP also has a cameo in the form of female vocalist Jarboe (better knowned for work as a solo artist and work with avante legends the Swans) the results make for an interesting listen. (Sadly the side project J2 is aimless and not nearly as interesting.) Overall I found this EP to be both dreamy, at times catchy and hypnotic at the same time being heavy. Decent, but NOT the best Jesu.

This ep is really beautiful! I love everything from Jesu and this is no exception. I understand the criticism about track 3 but it's really grown on me. There are vocal things happening here that seem to be firsts for Jesu. Justin Broadrick is only getting better. It's a little expensive to buy the cd. I went with the mp3's and it's less than 99cents a track! Damn good music.

Jesu's Lifeline EP,

I have been following the meandering career of JKB for a long long time. I got my first Godlesh album (Street Cleaner, followed by Pure) way back in the day after I heard JKB say Godflesh was all about nothing but extremes. I followed the work with GOD, Techno animal, the stuff on Lo Fibre, Final, Solaris and other formations. Jesu is not Godflesh, and Im just fine with that. Godflesh died as the project was no longer a viable outlet and Jesu came of it. The feeling of the two groups is similar, the desolation, the self inspection; only where GF was more of a sonic lashing out Jesu is a prettier vision. Similar to the evolution of the Swans in a weird way. This album in particcular is a good one from Jesu, the song structure is more accessable than that of Jesu or Heartache, but the guitar playing is just as good. it is easy to see how the Final played into jesu's sound. The lyrics are good and meaningful if not sometimes mournful. Like the oldder GF material Jesu seems to be evolving a certain minimalist style. Not a bad thing. the vocal melodies are very catchy at times in way that is surprising. I would suggest this EP to any fan or newcomer but would perhaps suggest the earlier works first, conqueror for example or HeartAche (friends are evil is one of my favorite songs) as the progress from album to album is failry important.

Justin Broadrick does it again with the Lifeline ep. Seems Jesu's sound is constantly changing but sticking true to its Shoegazer roots and in keeping the listeners interest. This would've been a 5 star review however I just can't get into the Jarboe collaboration on "Storm Comin' On" I Feel it takes away from Justin Broadricks sound and I just don't feel it fits with the album. Other than that this record is awesome "End of the Road" is worth the price of admission alone, great way to end the album.

This starts off as a pretty solid release, harkoning Broadrick's "Silver" and "Conqueror" releases, when all of a sudden track 3 comes around. Jarboe just completely ruined this song, and the remainder of the album for me. I have tried several times to listen to it and at least try to accept it, if not like it and I just can't. By the time I'm done suffering through that, I just want to turn it off. A waste of $10, when I could have just bought 3 of the 4 songs for $.99 each and burned them to a crappy CD-R.

this is a good ep!! After a few hard listens, you can hear more and more sounds. just brilliant. why do people always compare jesu to godflesh? it's been a while since godflesh, move on.

So I leaped outta my skin when I saw the box with this cd inside my screen door! I put in the cd and all the music swooshed over my ears like a wave of self-deprecating joy & sadness.......then Jarboe popped(change the p to o) on the recording with her trademark drunkin Gregorian chant and even my dog had to leave the room! Please Justin for the love of GOD(flesh) release a version of that song without BarJoe. Almost as bad as Sarah Palin's maverick soccer mom rants!!! YOU BETCHA! well 3 outta 4 not bad.
