A harlot turned hero,
By Damian L. Briscoe (Baltimore, Maryland United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lifeline: A Two-Act Play about a Harlot Named Rahab and a God Named Jehovah (Lillenas Drama Resource) (Paperback)
This is a fictional story but it's very biblicly accurate. The detail given to each character makes them relatable to people we know. There are also alot of simialarities between Cannan at it's time of destruction and modern day America. There are lessons to be learned and fun to be had while producing and performing this play.

Makes the Biblical character Rahab come alive,

As a teacher, I worked on the sound for this play in a small Christian high school. Having been involved in perhaps a dozen different productions in various capacities over the years, I can say that I was impressed by this play as much as or more than anything I had done before. A well-written drama, it draws intriguing parallels between ancient cultures and our own (the nature of idolatry and comparing child sacrifices with modern-day abortion, to give two examples). While a primarily serious play, there are also moments of humour. Even knowing how the story ends did not take away from the suspense of watching the momentous decision that Rahab had to make. The red cord outside her window was the lifeline that saved her and allowed her to become a lifeline herself, an ancestor of King David and Jesus Christ.
