I can just hear some of you men, "I've already read Piper, Pink, and ... why ... I even have Watson memorized. The Ten Commandments? I've got this down, Sue. The Law. I already love the Law. It points out sin and in my line of work ... the practical implications and the applications ... what's contained in them... the positives ... the negatives, I know my catechisms, even those confessions I don't adhere to, ma'am ... A BOOK ABOUT THE 10 COMMANDMENTS....la la la that's all Sinchy stuff , eh. His Law points to Him, I even see the covenants in it. Each commandment a love note. In fact," say some of you ... maybe ..."I can't even think of some misbehavior without a number popping into my head. I see a number and 'Bam', Girl, it's either a Psalm or a Commandment, so I don't need to read another book about the 10 Commandments!"

Well, good. But, wait. You pull out Watson in my town, Brother... The pastors are barely even ready ... but ... YOU PULL OUT EDITH, You pull out Lifelines and you've become... Why! Sir? You've become a Fisher of Men. And women.

This is not just a book for women. Let me repeat that:
THIS IS NOT JUST A BOOK FOR WOMEN.

RARELY, (I mean NEVER actually) do I ever read ANY books of such quality by women. Amy Charmichael drove me nuts with her finger in the air impressions of "Oh, I think I'll switch countries now". Dorothy Sayer? Join Edwards, lady ... take a breath once in a while. No, not even our modern reformed babes: Elizabeth George, Noel... (maybe Elizabeth Prentice is the exception ... maybe) but this book more than Piper or Pink did it for me.

Bait the hook.
Reel in the line. Connections. Connections. Connections. That's what it's all about, right?

Text to text. Book to Bible. Bible to Christ. Text to world. Text to self. Whoa is me. Have mercy. God is mighty! "Is He safe?" "Course He isn't safe, but He's good."

This book will knock your theological socks off and make you understand God's Law for the precious priceless treasure it is AND THEN SOME.

There's enough meat in this text to feed a Pastor's Convention.

Get over yourself and read the girl's work, eh.
