4.0 out of 5 stars Good Choice to Go with Lifepac
I used Lifepac for my son for Kindergarten and plan to continue using through at least his first couple of grades. My son was never in pre-school besides what we did with him at home and although the kindergarten books had a lot of things that he already knew- I had to remind myself that when a company puts out a "pack" of lessons they probably need to assume that a lot...

2.0 out of 5 stars Was disappointed with this product...
I homeschool my son because we are a military family and living in an area that isn't that great academically...and aren't near a major post. I was creating his curriculum when he was in Kindergarten, but felt that he might learn more if I went with a box set. Well, I was mistaken. The AO Lifepac was a disappointment for me. This review is from: Lifepac Gold Language Arts Grade 1 Boxed Set (Paperback)
I used Lifepac for my son for Kindergarten and plan to continue using through at least his first couple of grades. My son was never in pre-school besides what we did with him at home and although the kindergarten books had a lot of things that he already knew- I had to remind myself that when a company puts out a "pack" of lessons they probably need to assume that a lot of kids may not be "pre- Schooled" yet since this curriculum is also used in class settings along with single family home-schoolers. What I definitley enjoy about this is that one can go as fast or slow as needed and the teachers guides give different activities that you choose to do or not to do- I did not do most of the activities in the guides- but I did get good ideas of what to add to it to keep my son learning. If you need guidance yourself in making sure you have a lesson plan that a child can follow- this is a great program- especially if you can find it cheap on amazon!

I was creating his curriculum when he was in Kindergarten, but felt that he might learn more if I went with a box set. Well, I was mistaken. The AO Lifepac was a disappointment for me. He has already covered the topics they have for this grade level.
Now, I enjoy the ability to have what I need, to be able to plan out his curriculum in advance, right in front of me. I like the predictability, but I was very disappointed at the level of the curriculum. I will probably keep it and use it for my daughter for preschool, but for now will use it as a supplement to what I come up with for my son.
