I have purchased this book as the title is too interesting. It is a quick and easy read. I flipped through the book before the purchase and one passage caught my attention: "Take me, for example. When a guy is dumb enough and selfish enough, he'll destroy everything that's good in his life, everything he's ever cared about, before he realizes what he's done. But the real tragedy isn't the dumbass that losses everything; he deserves his lot in life. The tragedy is all the collateral damage that he does, all the people he hurts because of his selfish ways." Sounds familiar? And Willie wrote a book not only on this point. It is a very honest account of what goes on in a guy's head and how guys operate.

It is different from "Men are from Mars Women are from Venus" and do not expect this book to be the same kind of book. The language of the book is very straight forward (and Willie has stressed in the book that it is blunt at times). It is not meant to be the kind of book to earn a literacy award. It is a book (a useful book or more like a tool book) to tell all of the girls out there to filter out guys that are not worth your time. Trust me, I have seen things that Willie mentioned done by my guy friends or to my girl friends. Of course, I have seen them or been there myself. It is really never too late to pick up this book to laugh at the stupidity and the mistakes you made before (or "I should have seen it"), or to remind yourself of what to look out for (including to stop day dreaming that a guy will change or that he loves you), or to be smarter when the next guy comes and asks you for a date. I cannot tell you after reading the book, there will not be any more tears or heartbreaks, but at least, and hopefully, you could learn how to save some of that energy and be happy, and find the man that deserves you.

Thanks for an entertaining book! I met Willie on a ferry ride to a Hong Kong island. He was seated next to me when my friend noticed his shirt which read "Life is Too Short to Date Men Like Me" - the title of his book! This instantly started a conversation between Willie and my friend, Sarah and me - as we wanted to know to know why he was wearing the shirt - "Are you a jerk" I asked? He explained that he had just published this book. We discussed his book as we continued on our hour long journey to our destination. After many laughs and "been there done thats" we parted ways with an autographed copy - thank you Willie! On my ferry ride back to Shenzhen I read his book and I must say it was quite entertaining and very, very insightful for young women who have yet to be enlightened as to why men are jerks and who have yet to find "Mr. Right". Considering I am in the 40+ category I can only say I wish I had read this book 20+ years ago, but even then I probably would not have necessarily followed his advice! So take heed young women - most readily available men are jerks!! Trust me!! Willie is right! Many of the good younger men are taken by smart confident happy women! So read part two of Willies book and learn how to meet "good men" and avoid the jerks! And most of all have fun reading this book! Thanks again Willie for some great laughs - especially FILTH!!

I'm too old to date, I've been in a relationship for 24 years now, so I count myself as a lucky guy...but it seems that these days with so much pressure, social networking, internet dating etc that the pressure is on and like everyone we want results!!

Willie's take on what pitfalls are out there for girls when it comes to relating to guys certainly hits the spot. We can't help being the way we are, but this book tells you WHY we act like we do. It's a great read for Women but also interestingly enough Men should also read it to understand what women want in a relationship and why they act like they do. Men and Women should come with instructions and 'Life's too short to date Men like me' just might be the guide that both of the sexes are looking for.

Willie thinks he's a bad boyfriend, but read the book and see if you agree with me that writing this book might just be the smartest thing he has ever done in his pursuit of a happy and rewarding relationship...Willie a bad guy? I think not...more like a regular guy who just followed his instincts and didn't read the signals.

Read the book, understand the opposite sex, learn the signals and find your missing piece of the puzzle that is life and love.
