5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite films.
It isn't often I come across such a great comedy. No plastic hollywood garbage, just real comedy. It wins you over the first time you see it. The film has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I first saw it while I worked at video store and have never forgotten it. Eric Schaeffer is so funny. If you saw "If Lucy Fell"(also with Sarah Jessica...

3.0 out of 5 stars Perhaps surprisingly interesting...
I managed to see this film quite by accident: late night on cable TV. Even at 3am, I managed, not only to be intrigued by the film, but also entertained. This is a simple movie, a funny movie, and it seems that there's no real pretence or desire to be anything else but simple and/or funny. Despite very little depth to the protagonists, I found it hard not to be...

This is a simple movie, a funny movie, and it seems that there's no real pretence or desire to be anything else but simple and/or funny. Despite very little depth to the protagonists, I found it hard not to be attracted to them because of their veritableness and senses of humor. It's very down-to-earth, and very likeable. Worth seeing just because it is funny than the average modern 'comedy', and most of the time it eminates more feeling than the contrived, schlock, big-budget products of the Hollywood machine (see James Cameron). END

5.0 out of 5 stars Eric Schaeffer is one of the best filmakers, April 11, 2000
This review is from: My Life's in Turnaround [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I find Eric Schaeffer is one of the best filmmakers to come on to the scene. My Life's in Turnaround is one of my favorite movies. If you enjoyed the Television series, New York Daze/Too Something then you should definitly see this movie, along with If Lucy Fell.

3.0 out of 5 stars The "sophmore slump" has been a curse that many filmmakers have had to face., June 4, 2011
This review is from: My Life's in Turnaround (DVD)
Although "Turnaround" unsuprisingly doesn't have much to offer in terms of image/audio quality, the film itself is funny at worth checking out - especially for the low retail price of $9.99 - and less at most stores.

Inane. Sophomoric. Phoebe Cates could not make up for the rest of the cast or plot (if there was one). Don't waste your time or money.
