we are using this book in a women's Bible study and find it an excellant tool for teaching what lifestyle discipleship should look like. The book is an easy read, clear in it's points, and consistent in definition. I plan to use it again.

Practical book about building disciples,

Lifestyle Discipleship is the third book about evagelism by Jim Petersen. In it, the author explains a sensible approach for people to use when trying to help others develop into mature Christians. I liked the book for two main reasons. First, it is biblically based (the author includes numerous scriptures to support his concepts), and second it is easy to comprehend. Any Christian who reads this book will not feel overwhelmed by the challenge of helping others to grow in Christ.Instead of laying out a complex disciple building program full of tips and techniques, Petersen focuses on how we should live. He believes that it is our calling to model the Christian lifestyle so that others are inspired by our example. We should become "insiders" who impact the world in which we operate. I agree with his "insider" concept, and hope that this book helps me to influence those around me. I recommend this book for any Christian who is looking for ways to make a greater impact for the Kingdom of God. If you have not read the first two books in this series, I recommend that you read those first, before this one.

Solid, biblical, advice from an experienced leader,
This review is from: Lifestyle Discipleship: The Challenge of Following Jesus in Today's World (Paperback)
This is a great book on disciple making from an experienced discipler working within the Navigators' organization. Like most books on disciple making, he focuses mostly on establishing young believers, and teaching them how to walk with God. Only a few pages near the end refer to leadership development. But this is a well worthwhile read that grapples with most of the central issues involved in spiritual growth. His last chapter on time priorities contains helpful points for busy disciple makers.
