Near-Perfect set of attractive, portable speakers. Great deal for $35 bucks. The "hub" has a rubber ring in the middle that the speakers lock into and you can wrap the speaker cables and iPhone/iPod jack cable around it. The hub has an on-off switch, uses AAA batteries or plugs into the wall with the included adapter. The speakers have a substantial feeling to them, but are not too heavy. Speakers are black plastic with translucent black plastic covers. The iPhone stand inserts into the rubber ring of the base and allows the iPhone to lay on its side or upright. This uses a 3.5 mm Jack so you can plug this into the iPhone, or probably any iPod or MP3 player that has an earphone jack.

I use these on my desk, plugged directly into my laptop. I also used these speakers for an outdoor BBQ, and it worked great with my iPhone.
The nice thing is you don't need to put the phone into airport mode. Pretty cool feature-didn't really use it yet, but tested the speaker phone feature: music fades out, calls come through the speakers.

Audiophiles will probably find fault, but for portable speakers at this price and aesthetic, battery powered or via AC Adapter, these sound great.

2 things would make these speakers perfect:
1. If it came with a carrying case/bag
2. If you could charge your iPhone, iPod

I mistakenly bought these speakers thinking that they were specifically for the iPhone/iTouch. I was dead wrong. These are generic mp3 speakers that plug into your earphone jack and NOT the iPod interface. The problem with this is that although you are able to listen to your device, it is only for a short while as your batteries continue to drain. Normally not a big deal for listening to music, but watching videos or movies will drain your battery fast. Since one of the selling points of this unit is to hold your iPod in landscape mode, I was disappointed in it's limitation. I'll be back to work searching for good iTouch speakers that hold the unit in landscape mode AND charge the battery. Let me say again, This is not a set of iPod speakers, nor is it a docking station. It is simply a set of generic mp3 speakers.

We are very pleased with this system, which is extremely easy to set up, works well with our iPhone and has excellent sound quality for music. As noted in other reviews, the speakers work for phone calls, but could be improved for this use...it would be nice if both the iPhone speaker system and the portable speakers had clearer and louder sound for calls. But for the price, this little system is stellar, and we recommend it.

I use this in the bathroom so I can listen to my iphone while showering and watch news podcasts while at the sink. Most speakers like this don't let the iphone sit horizontally for watching video.

It would be better if it could go louder, but it's acceptable for a small room. It's also bigger than I thought, probably too bulky for a messenger bag. Would also be nice if next generation used the dock connector so it can charge the iphone.

I bought these speakers for my ipod to go on vacation. The sound was great from these little speakers!...you would would think these were much larger speakers if you weren't looking at them. Because you can separate the speakers you get a truly stereo affect.

I didn't mind the wires because where I was staying only had a small end table and I could arrange the ipod and speakers to fit on the end table where I wouldn't be able to if it was one bigger unit, and as I stated before you can really separate the speakers.

It traveled well. The speaker couple into the main unit to protect everything. I just placed the whole thing with the wires into a small travel bag.

Recap of what others said: Travels well. Wish it would have acted as a charger. Sounds decent (be sure to set iPhone iPod EQ settings to "Portable Speakers"). I use it at work and the speakers are never more than a couple feet from me. Bass seems to come through better at louder volume which kinda stinks for me as I need the volume low.

Solid buy for the money but not for audiophiles.

This product far exceeded my expectations, I use it for my iphone, ipod and laptop, it produces excellent quality sound and the batteries last for weeks at a time. Highly recommended !!

These speakers are great for the iPhone. Good sound, small footprint, nice storage size for travel, and they provide a good support for the phone. Probable will be the last speakers I buy for the iPhone and other media players (Archos.,ect )

Overall the product works as specified, and I can second most of the previous reviews. Sound quality is surprisingly decent for their tiny size. Versatility (generic jack, battery or wall power) is a big plus.

The only major problem is a constant buzzing noise they emit when plugged in. This is NOT a GSM sound - they really are shielded; it is a constant irritating humming. It's quiet, so when the music is playing you don't hear it; but when there is no sound, this buzzing is driving me nuts. So far I didn't figure out how to fix it, and if I find it impossible, I'll send them back for refund.

UPD. It looks like the buzzing only happens when the speakers are plugged into wall outlet. I switched to batteries and everything works OK. Not sure if it means defective power supply.

I got these speakers for my husband as a Christmas gift. He travels and I thought these would be nice and compact to use with his iPhone on trips. I specifically ordered this set because it uses the earphone jack. (We both have protective cases on our iPhones and most speaker systems that are built to use the interface on the bottom of the phone will not allow the phone to make a proper connection if you have a cover on.)

Now my husband has left his speakers on the kitchen table and I have plugged my iPhone into them....the sound is FANTASTIC. Very clear and pure, nice depth to the sound and no buzzing. Much better than other speakers we have purchased elsewhere.
I guess I will not steal his after all, I am just going to use the one-click at the top of the page to get my own set.
