We needed a portable hoop, but didn't want anything flimsy. We decided to "upgrade" to this hoop and boy are we happy with it. The assembly was not quick, but it was very straight-forward and the directions were excellent. The assembled hoop is very sturdy and has gotten nearly constant play. It is a kid magnet. We couldn't be more pleased with this hoop and would recommend it to anyone, regardless of their level of play.

I spent A LOT of time researching basketball systems. I wanted: 1) a sturdy, quality system that will grow with my boys (7 and 3 1/2) and last a long time; 2) easy height adjustment; 3) a good price; and 4) easy-to-follow instructions. So far, this system has fit all of my criteria. It's very sturdy and nice quality, we can adjust the height easily and smoothly with one hand, great Amazon price, and you can't beat free shipping (the box weighed 100 lbs., and the nice UPS driver put it in the garage for us -- better than schlepping it home from a sporting goods store!#, and the instructions were very clear and EASY to follow #and I am not a mechanical person). The boys LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the system, and I hope that we'll have years of family fun shooting hoops!

The assembly instructions were very clear, and it took about 2 1/2 to 3 hours to assemble. The parts fit well -- they were all included -- and there were no surprises. Our family likes everything about the unit. We recommend using sand to fill the base for a heavy, but very sturdy, system. The sand was about $35 at our local Home Depot and the unit remained steady during some recent windy weather. A family poll yielded no negatives!

I couldn't be more pleased with my experience with Fogdog and this quality basketball system. My order shipped much sooner than I expected and arrived in excellent condition. I managed to assemble this in just over 3 hours with the help of my 9 year-old son. The only problem was a part that was incomplete. I called the 800 number to Fogdog and was told a replacement part would ship overnight. They kept their word and soon my entire family was enjoying wholesome outdoor fun.

This basketball system from Lifetime is extremely well made and will provide years of enjoyment. The backboard adjusts very easily to 6 different heights allowing fun for kids of all ages. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a quality product that can take the rigors of daily play by all in the family (and neighbors too). Thanks Fogdog!

The Lifetime 71553 arrived damaged: there were over 25 scraps and gouges and the middle of the pole was so bent that I spent an hour trying to get it round enough to fit into the bottom portion of the pole. I had to paint the unit to prevent rust. The directions were poorly written and sometimes just wrong. When I informed them of the errors, they were not interested. Once assembled and painted, it functions well and seems to be sturdy enough to last. I like the ease with which it adjusts and it is stable.
