THIS CAMPER IS NOTHING SHORT OF BRILLIANT. After my husband passed away...it took me about a year to find myself again and I decided I wanted to once again enjoy camping. The only problem was that I had a new Carolla and could only pull maximum of 1500 lbs. I also missed our pickup and was thinking about purchasing a small utility trailer to compensate for the lack of a truck bed.
When I found this camper, it solved both problems that I had...Let me say at this point I am a 68 year old lady...but very in shape, so I knew I could handle the assembly or I wouldnt purchase it. I was determined to make it work...so I ordered it.
If you purchase it, like I did in November and let it sit in my garage until April, when it was warm enough for me to begin assembly...you will want to license it within the 30 of WHEN YOU PURCHASED THE KIT. I didn't know that and the state of Missouri penalized me all those months of waiting. So my should have been 35.00 license ended up costing me 160.00. Not a happy camper over that...but I assumed it was still on the pallet, un-assembled...it wasn't a trailer. Live and learn.
Also do not let them license it as a camper/motor home etc. It is a utility trailer.
Now to the assembly. I found it extremely easy, directions were simple...just take your time and go one step at a time.
I only needed help to put the wheels on. Everything else I did myself. A friend had a torque wrench or power wrench, not sure of the name.
I absolutely love my camper.
I have it decorated shabby chic, complete with crystal chandelier, free standing AC when I need it, lamps, tables, chairs...small rack for kitchen supplies, bed, and porta potty.
The only problem that I can see, is I have people at my door all the time...

This is a great product just like everything else that Lifetime makes BUT...

No spare tire and Lifetime sent out a signed off certificate after being contacted. That is real problem since DMV demands that. It is not important who you purchase it from since DMV will not issue a plate till you have a receipt from Lifeline so insure to contact them immediately when you have the trailer in your possession. Other than that everything about this product is quality and I repeat quality. I get two private areas in the tent which is great for sleeping and storgae. Need to insure that there is enough parking or open space which will allow you to set up the tent without getting a ticket. The best set up for the beach. It is heaven, outdoors, stars, surfing and right next to the waves right by the beach... Bravo.

You will definitely want to add the Gate Extenders/Queen Bed Extensions/ATV Ramps. Even if you don't have an ATV having a queen air mattress on the wing and the added stiffness for the trailer is worth it. The trailer has a nice suspension and tracks nicely (better than smaller trailers without a suspension) without pulling. You will forget it is on your vehicle. To level, point it straight up or down hill to level side to side and then use the adjustments on the rear kickstand and front tongue jack for front to back.

I am 6'3" and I can stand up in this thing. Amazingly roomy on the inside. On a recent trip an astonished teenager remarked that it was like one of those tents from Harry Potter.

It took two people about 11 hours with brakes to assemble the trailer, less than the manual's 20 hour estimate. A good chunk of that was drilling and tightening the deck screws and waiting for the air compressor to build pressure (used an air drill). The biggest hassle was finding someone at the DMV that knew how to title and register a home-built from a Certificate or Origin instead of a Title. It took me 2 trip and about 5 hours of arguing before I got high enough on the food chain to talk to someone who didn't think it was stolen goods. Tip: do bring a receipt showing Amazon collected state sales tax.

It takes two people less than 10 min to set up in daylight and no wind (and up to 2 hours in the dark in a wind storm). About 30 min if alone. If alone, the biggest issue is keeping one side of the fiberglass rods in place while bowing from the other side. Even a part time child helper for this step can greatly speed things up.

Assembly and especially disassemble in high winds can damage parts.

I bought this trailer last year. It was a bigger project to assemble than I anticipated, but I got it together in one long day. I had to have my nephews help lift items so I could install the axle and wheels. The rest was a one man job. Lots of drilling though - the side lights and wiring clips need holes drilled in the frame, as well as all those boards. Was a long time to do this and you need a good drill as the frame is fairly thick steel.

The tent is better quality than you'd buy at a camping store, but it's no professional grade tent like an army or expedition tent. It needs a rainfly, but a good silver tarp will serve that purpose very well.

I got the deluxe kit which includes the ramps/bed supports and the spare tire. The standard trailer includes the support leg to keep the trailer from rocking when parked.

The tent is very spacious and holds two queen sized air mattresses with plenty of room to spare between them. I put all my camping gear in wheeled plastic bins and just strap them down in the trailer. Also have plenty of room for a cooler and to carry firewood to the campsite. I assume it's rugged enough to take well off road. Not big tires, but if you have a jeep/suv/truck that can get to the boonies, you could easily drag this thing up there - I doubt you would break it.

As a utility trailer, this one is excellent. I've hauled a thousand pounds of materials in it, hauled refuse to the dump and have moved furniture with it. It's light enough to unhook from the car and push it to where you want it, yet strong enough to handle heavy loads. The high sides are very useful and desirable when using as a utility trailer. Plenty of places to hook tie-downs and secure your load.

Overall very happy with it and highly recommend it.
