5.0 out of 5 stars It's about time...., May 6, 2003
This review is from: The Lifetime Health Journal (Hardcover)
It's about time someone published a book that makes it possible for me to keep track of my health records. I have moved around a lot in my life and my doctors and health care records are in four different states. I have had surgery six times plus regular check-ups for sixty years. I have finally found a way to keep track of all these records. Now I take my records with me and it has simplified the over-all view of my health, not only for my doctors but for myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gift of a Lifetime, February 3, 2003
By
Jean L. Pottle (Casco, ME United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Lifetime Health Journal (Hardcover)
Fifty years ago the family doctor kept a person's health record from birth to death. Today most people confer with a variety of doctors as they move through childhood, adulthood, middle age, and the senior years. No longer can anyone expect all of his/her pertinent information to be readily available at any one doctor's office. It is up to each individual to keep track of any information that can be helpful. But, what information should our personal health records contain? Kawiaka's book spells out exactly what is needed for a lifetime record.

LIFETIME HEALTH is an easy way for individuals to become responsible for their own health records. Initially, parents are responsible for entering the information on their children. This task is then passed on as children move into adulthood. This book is truly the gift of a lifetime.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too In-Depth for Casual Use, January 28, 2006
This review is from: The Lifetime Health Journal (Hardcover)
I'm sure this book would be good for some, but it was too in-depth for me. The adult section doesn't even start until page 57. I wanted to use this for myself, but I'm not going to record everything from my childhood, so the first half of the book would be wasted. Then it asks for so much detailed information about all sorts of tests. Maybe if you have a history of health problems, you'd want to record all of this. But for a healthy adult, it doesn't seem necessary. In fact, when I go to the doctor, they don't even tell me what my blood pressure was, etc. - because it's not an issue. So if you're simply looking for a book to record basic things like immunizations & notes from appointments, this will probably be too much for you. It is a very nice hard back book though. And I'm sure it's useful to some.
