Great Lifetime product for garage mount!!,

I researched basketball backboards for some time before making my final decision. With the size and space we have for a court the ideal location for us was to locate the backboard over our garage door. With the strong recommendation from another Amazon reviewer I purchased the Lifetime 79910 Competition Series Basketball Backboard and Rim Combo with 50 Inch Shatter Guard Backboard and LIFETIME PRODUCTS #1044 ADJ Pole Conversion Kit combo. I needed the adjustable backboard mounting system because my boys are 4- and 6- years old. **One note: with mounting this bracket to a solid wall more than 9' high the backboard adjusts from 8' to 10' only instead of the advertised 7.5' to 10'. I was impressed with the easy of installation of both the backboard and bracket. The instructions were easy to follow and it took no time at all! I also liked the suggestion of that same previous reviewer to add the washers for stability. I assembled it without them and it has a little too much sway for what I like. The backboard is as good of quality as I would expect for as lightweight as it is. Don't expect the backboard to be as rigid as glass! This is meant to be a lightweight system and therefore has a bit of flexing in the clear acrylic backboard. Overall, this is a GREAT combination and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to mount a Basketball hoop to a garage!

Perfect for mounting backboard over garage...,

I ordered a Lifetime 79910 Competition Series Basketball Backboard and Rim Combo with 50 Inch Shatter Guard Backboard along with a LIFETIME PRODUCTS #1044 ADJ Pole Conversion Kit to mount over my garage. The widest part of my driveway is in front of the garage and I really didn't want a permanent pole or a weighted base to have to mow around so a wall mount was the perfect solution for me. The mount and backboard was easy enough to put together and was much more sturdy than I thought it would be. After reading another online review I went ahead and added a couple of additional washers to the pivot bolts (see my pictures I added above) so that the backboard wouldn't swing from side-to-side too much. The installation instructions advised not to mount the backboard to a brick wall such that the weight of the backboard rested solely on the bricks because they might not be able to handle the weight and stress of a basketball backboard so I drilled the four holes using a foot-long 3/8" masonry drill bit all the way through the brick wall to the inside of my garage and used 12" threaded rods, washers and nuts to sandwich the wall. It is not coming down. I hung on the rim a few times to make sure. I am really pleased with the results and would buy this combo again.

I mounted this on my garage with seperately bought Lifetime 48" backboard and it works great. I used a few extra washers as others recommended. No problems. Very Solid but you will need an adult to adjust the height. Please note that on a tall house mount it only goes from 8-10' not 7.5-10. Install accordingly.

I was not sure how well this conversion kit was going to work. They were ordered to mount the two backboards, I also bought, on a wall for a full-length court inside my new building. The installation was easy and required just a few spacers (1/2 inch washers) to tighten up the movement. (I actually knew of the need for the washers from a previous review, Whomever you were...thanks for that insight). They got their first full workout over the 4th of July and were played hard. They work!!!
