5.0 out of 5 stars Must own!!!
This album is a flawless piece of thrash melo-death. A true metal fan will know right off the bat this is good material (amazing vocals, catchy riffs, drums, great solos) Duskfall is NOT another generic "melo-death wannabe". They developed their own style and cranks out songs that is guaranteed to stay in your cd player for days!!!

On another note for the noobs...

3.0 out of 5 stars don't bother with re-hashing!
nothing can surpass the greatness of Soilwork's "chainheart machine" album....the best riffage, the most AMAZING solos and the album is chalk full of them...in my opinion, the chainheart machine is THE pinnacle of Melodic death metal. do not bother with this Duskfall stuff, it is just rehashing, and who wants the same album written by a different band...not too...

On another note for the noobs (who just got into metal or know nothing but metallica, pantera, and slayer); I just want to say that there is no set definition for melo-death metal. There are various forms such as thrash melo-death which is mostly Gothenburg bands (At The Gates, Duskfall), viking melo-death (Amon Amarth, Wintersun), to progressive melo-death (Dark Tranquilty, Opeth). There is so set definition, so stop saying which band defines it! Melo-death should not really be taken as a genre, it is more of a style.

Regards,

~Metal Mo

4.0 out of 5 stars Well Done, January 13, 2006
This review is from: Lifetime Supply of Guilt (Audio CD)
The Duskfall have done it agin. They have released a well crafted melodic death/thrash metal album. If you are a fan of At The Gates, early In Flames, Dark Tranquility, or early Soilwork then you will not be disappointed with this effort. While I think that "Frailty" is The Duskfall's best album to date (Jan '06), "A Lifetime Supply of Guilt" has more balls, more passion, and more guts than most other albums released recently. Who needs The Haunted when we have The Duskfall?

If you are looking for high quality death thrash..similar to 'Whoracle' and 'Colony' era In Flames, then definitely check this band out. They have the sound down, and they write catchy, memorable, and heavy riffs. Their prior CD 'Source' is just as good too.

There are lots of bands with this sound now...but these guys do it the best.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hit and Miss, January 19, 2009
Just as the title implies this album is quite hit and miss. Parts of certain songs get monotonous even obnoxious at points (Trust is Overrated, Relive Your Fall). You can tell the had writers block on the fillers because the majority of the chorus riffs are far above average for the genre. The vocals are very nice and his writing suits his voice. This album can be bought for less than [..] on ITunes its more than worth that.

3/4 hit and 1/4 miss is not bad for an offbeat album. Also, "A Stubborn Soul" is the greatest metal ballad I have ever listened to.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rock Solid Album, August 4, 2007

I didnt know about this band untill I saw they're video for "Shoot it in" inside the video game The Darkness. I'm glad I checked these guys out! Lifetime Supply of Guilt is pretty solid throughout, with a few of my favorite songs being "Shoot it in", "Shallow End", and "A Stubborn Soul". I'd recomend this band to people who like bands such as Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquility, and early era In Flames.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good effort by Duskfall!!!!, November 1, 2005

Is like Darkane meets In Flames with a little touch of Dark Tranquility. A good retro-thrash album with good riffs and heavy musicianship!!!
