I was never big into music, but I discovered the Finnish band Poets of the Fall through the video game Alan Wake. Since then, they have easily become my favorite band, and there hasn't been one song by them that I haven't enjoyed. Their music truly is poetry--masterfully executed over and over, uniquely in every song they produce. Lift is one of my favorites, and one of their very first songs. Lift is an amazing song, not only mesmerizing in sound, but also ripe with meaning. I would recommend checking out the music video as well, if possible.As I said, I wasn't much into music before PotF. I would seriously recommend checking them out. If you find a lot of mainstream or niche music distasteful, or are looking for some deeper meaning (you could analyze some of these songs in an advanced English class as poetry), please, try out PotF. You will not be disappointed. |
