DJ Dan is without a doubt one of America's most beloved DJs. Clubber's coast to coast have revered in Dan's skillful DJ sets and have come to love his unpretentious, always-positive attitude. On his latest double-disc mix CD, Lift, Dan wanted to showcase various facets of his musical personality. "The vibe on CD One is very get-the-party-started!," Dan explains. The journey begins in a fun, funky house vein with playful, sexy selections like "Love for the Weekend" – a collaboration between Dan and Toronto-based producer Hatiras – and Seamus Haji's explosive remake of "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life," then takes a turn towards electro flavors (the throbbing Rock Your World by DLG), before dipping back into funky house for a smooth landing.

With the second disc, Dan takes a different tack. It begins with the glamorous "Superstars" by Loose Cannons, slowing down the tempo subtly while maintaining high energy levels via fat, electro grooves like the chunky "Shake It" from DJ Rooster and Sammy Peralta. At a pivotal, mid-set peak, Dan drops his own Acid Dub remix of New Order's "Krafty," which chugs ahead like a greased locomotive, barreling into a final segment of darker, hypnotic, tech-house cuts courtesy of producers like Who's Who and The Drill.

I own most of Dan's CDs, and I have to say.. this one is just mind blowing...Disc 1 is a trip through pumping squelchy disco influenced tech funk and Disc 2 brings it full throttle with some uber nasty acid tech house..the energy is just relentless and keeps going til the end. Solid mixing as always..one of the best tracks for me on this whole collection is "Funkadelic" by Dennis the Menace presents Tube 6 (disc 1)..wait til you hear the breakdown, I nearly lost it the first time I heard it..get this mix..it kicks and then some..

This CD will blow your mind. Dj Dan is back with new mix album which is much better then Accelerate or Roundtrip. Better transitions, better trax. I don't think anyone will be able to top this one, not even Bad Boy Bill nor Richard "Humpty" Vision. Just buy It and you won't be dissapointed!
