5.0 out of 5 stars geri's club mixes come through again...
Geri Halliwell's label smartly enlisted some established remixers to bring some added kick to "Lift Me Up" - the second single off of her "Schizophonic" lp. Track number one is the original. Number two is the "Metro Radio Edit" - this remix speeds up the song quite a bit, which works quite well turning it into a great little bumper. Fans of...

3.0 out of 5 stars The video is great! but ...
Geri Halliwell was by far my favorite spice girl. Now she has gone solo and I love her work, she hasn't dissapointed her fans. This single is pretty nice, I like the slow "Lift Me Up" and of course I adore the cute video where she's in the desert hanging out and having fun with some aliens, but the rest of the tracks on this CD single, just don't measure up...

5.0 out of 5 stars geri's club mixes come through again..., December 24, 1999
This review is from: Lift Me Up [UK CD1] (Audio CD)
Geri Halliwell's label smartly enlisted some established remixers to bring some added kick to "Lift Me Up" - the second single off of her "Schizophonic" lp. Track number one is the original. Number two is the "Metro Radio Edit" - this remix speeds up the song quite a bit, which works quite well turning it into a great little bumper. Fans of Cher's "Believe" may enjoy this remix due to the fact that it is done by Metro (who produced that massive Cher single and have also remixed for Aqua). Track number three is the "Almighty Edit". This remix is done by the Almighty Assosciates (again, remixes for Cher as well as Hannah Jones and Alexia) and has an a very "fluffy" feel to it, very fast beats - almost jungly. And track four is the "K-Klass Phazerphunk Remix" - your standard house mix. This one being remixed by K-Klass (remixes for S Club 7, Janet Jackson and Rozalla). A solid single for any Spice Girl or Geri Halliwell fan, heck for a fan of pure pop music! I recommend this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars 3 out of 4 ain't bad, May 29, 2000
This review is from: Lift Me Up [UK CD1] (Audio CD)
Lift Me Up is my favorite Geri song. I'm also a slave to a good dance remix.

Lift Me Up (Metro Edit) - A very good remix that may grow tired after a bit, but it is cool and dancey.

Lift Me Up (Almighty Edit) - Wow! This is the best of Geri's remixes that have been out on single. It's very airy, dancey, and it makes this inspiring song even more inspiring if you can believe it. This track is worth the money alone.

Lift Me Up (K-Klass Phazerphunk Mix) - At first, I was excited about a K-Klass mix of LMU, I loved their mix of "Rapture" by Blondie and "The Best Things In Life Are Free" by Janet Jackson and Luther Vandross, but this remix does not do anything for K-Klass, Geri, or this song and does not rank as one of their better mixes. Stop the CD after #3.

5.0 out of 5 stars A pleasant surprise, March 25, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Lift Me Up [UK CD1] (Audio CD)
This song from Geri Haliwell is a truly pleasant surprise from the former Spice Girl who supposedly 'couldn't sing'. Working within her abilities, this song shows that she can indeed sing and she does so in a melodeous, inspiring way. Go Geri!

I loved the single especially the remix. Geri Halliwell has such a unique voice, I find it rather soothing. I love the single and would recommend it to anybody - young or old. The remix has a great beat that makes you want to get up and dance!

4.0 out of 5 stars Well done mixes, April 13, 2011
This review is from: Lift Me Up [European CD2] (Audio CD)
"Lift me up" was another no.1 for Geri in U.K.
This is maxi cd with album version and 3 others:
- metro edit
- almighty edit
- k-klass phazerphunk mix
Fortunately all of them keep the spirit of the original.
Metro mix is easy to recognize (check what they did for Tina's "When the heartache..." or Diana's "I will surivie").
They have their own style and they keep it here.
Almighty speeds vocals and adds some outerspace feeling. It has got also the most "agressive" beat of all.
The furtherst goes the mix made by k-klass, in fact it could have been cut to half (8 minutes is way too long) and it wouldn't make any difference.

I bought almost all of her singles, cause the full cd-s didn't meet my expectations. Her power are the songs she decided to promote and mixes, not LPs.

This single is pretty nice, I like the slow "Lift Me Up" and of course I adore the cute video where she's in the desert hanging out and having fun with some aliens, but the rest of the tracks on this CD single, just don't measure up. They are too R&B-ish for me, and of course "Live and Let Die" is a rock cover, which I am not TOO fond of. Her next single "Bag It Up" is much better than this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars GERI RELEASES A SMASHING DUBUT SINGLE!, February 11, 2000
By
Geri Halliwell, now on her own, shows the world that she can create her own "girl power" by herself. In this first single, she mixes fast music with pop music that will be sure to get you dancing. She proves the world once again that she is a truly talented diva with sassy lirics and soulful voice. A must-listen-to for everybody.
