Moby 'After' Destroyed Deluxe Edition Trailer

Biography

Creative history is littered with insomniac icons – Vincent van Gogh, Marcel Proust, Charles Dickens, Groucho Marx, Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe and David Bowie to name but seven, all of whom were regularly kept from the tender embraces of Morpheus by over-stimulated brains and artistic appetites that just wouldn’t quit. Vegan, teetotal and habitually brimming with rude health though he is, Moby… Read more in Amazon's Moby Store

3.0 out of 5 stars Fair b-side (spoiler warning), June 11, 2008
This review is from: Lift Me Up Pt.1 (Audio CD)
'Lift Me Up' is a great song, but my review is more for the b-side 'Mulholland'.

Now, it's an ok song, but just that: ok. It's a nearly 9-minute affair of down tempo electronica. If you've seen Moby's 18 DVD, where he shows you his studio and takes you through the making of a song, it's sort of like that. This track sounds like it was put together in about half an hour. It may sound shallow of me, but I would've loved to hear some 'Hotel' b-sides with vocals; he just seems to put more effort into them. For casual fans, this two track business is not for you; I would recommend though, if you really want this b-side, to download it independently of the single track, being as it is no different from the album version.

And how come we didn't get to hear a b-side album for 'Hotel'? I know it's not a prerequisite for Mr. Moby to make one for us for every album, but I think it is owed to us for the ungodly amount of singles this album produced (nearly every song on the album has made one, or four, different single releases).
