LIFT UP YOUR HANDS: Raise Your Praise and Get Lost in God is an inspirational book teaching the art of praising God completely and fully, based upon your own personal knowledge of Him. Minister Pruett shares her experience of belonging to church, worshipping, but not fully praising God, as she hadn't been taught to do so properly. In this book, her testimony, she shares tools to help one become stronger in praise and effectively communicating desires, hopes, fears, and troubles to God.

She uses the "ABC's of Praise," which involve using the phonetic alphabet to come up with various words representing what you feel God is in your life. The key is to use words other than what you've been taught to believe and take them and expound on them, using a thesaurus or dictionary as necessary. By doing this, one can become more fruitful in their praise and prayer sessions.

I liked LIFT UP YOUR HANDS for the most part, but it seemed to be a bit repetitive in areas, taking away from my total enjoyment of it. I do however look forward to practicing some of the teachings in my own quest to become closer to God. Of special note are the various supplemental exercises in which the reader is allotted the opportunity to try out what they've learned. Pruett completes the book by allowing readers to come up with their own ending; their personal ABC's of Praise. It is a good resource for those wanting to fully understand the praise process
