Lift-n-Lok Multipurpose Box - Orange/Grey

I use my box as a sewing box. The box I have is grey and pink. The specs for all the sizes of each drawer, the top part, and even the individual compartments can be found at their website pdysystems.com/tool_tech-info.php. I used these specs to help determine if the box would fit in the space I had alloted for it, as well as the size I had available for holding boxes of thread, bobbins, etc inside of it. The specs can be a bit misleading, however. The inside of the cover and the upper unit have angled "fins" of the same molded plastic material, I am sure for extra reinforcement. These fins take up about an inch of space inside under the handle, as well as a half-inch to inch within the upper unit part. These annoyed me, as I needed that extra space to hold thread boxes. So, little modifier that I am, I snipped them out! (There goes the warranty...) The box is now perfect for me in every way, and the strength of the box has not been affected at all. If I were using the box as a tool box and lugging it around job sites, the extra reinforcement might be needed, but not for my purposes. All of my sewing supplies are now in one box: thread, needles, scissors, etc. and all remain segregated in their own little compartments. Love it!

I was looking for something to carry several different sizes of fasteners and other hobby related items outside where I fly rockets and airplanes. The chance of a toolbox getting knocked over or dropped or just falling over on uneven ground is greater than if you are just using it in your garage or basement.

The Lift-n-Lok works exactly as it says and fits my purposes very well. Everything I need fits in it and with just one movement the entire box is locked with no chance of things moving from compartment to compartment.

At first I thought the price was a little high but the old adage, "you get what you pay for" seems to fit here. This is a very high quality case. The drawers feel like they are on bearings and work very smoothly unlike most other plastic storage cases.

The only drawback I can find is that the size of the diameter of the handle is too large. It would be more comfortable to carry if trhe handle were a little smaller. The reason for the size may be the locking mechanism that it operates.

Great box. I'm thinking of buying another.

I use this for RC airplane parts and field equipment. The small parts dont move around when it closed. The top is nice and big for my transmitter. It holds everything neatly and secure. A+

i am a cabinet installer. so i have lots of different size screws, from 1/2" to 6" all fit fine. along with the air nails, screwdriver bits. i actually had space left over but i know i can add a few things later.
the only improvement i could ask is there be more slots for dividers and some dividers in the large compartments of the bottom drawer. with mine full it weights about 60 lbs and it is a solid made box

really a great product with lots of uses! i use mind to hold all my tools,parts and chargers for my radio controlled boats. now i don't worry about pieces not being in the right place when i open the unit. they stay in the spot where you put them. what i use to carry in two boxs,fits nicely in "the lift-n-lock" box. a great organizer.

Saw this box at a model fly-in, and fell in love with it. Everything it says it is and more. Highly recommended to any one that needs a great tool and parts box.

I can't be happier than I am with the PDY Systems Lift-n-Lok tool box. It does everything that it claims. The tool box is the perfect size to carry everything I need. I have been a design mechanical engineer for over 20 years and this is one of those things that I wished I had thought of myself. I am able to carry everything and more for every task that I do. I am always fixing things and working on my hobbies and my tool box goes with me every where I go. I have dropped my old tool box spilling everything multiple times because the lid wasn't latched. This tool box will not let me do that again. And even if I drop the whole thing the contents inside stay put. I have bragged on my tool box many times. If you are concerned about the box being plastic, don't be. This tool box isn't cheaply made and is very robust. This will be the last tool box that I will ever have to buy and I couldn't be happier with it. I highly recommend this to all my friends. You won't be disappointed.

A nice light weight tool box that has a lot of storage. This tool box replace the one I purchased at Lowes that had trouble staying closed when it was picked up.

It seems to be a good tool box. I like how the drawers lock once the handle is raised. I would recommend it to others.
