I have a Craftsman 1/2 HP opener with a manufactured date of 8/2000, and the orange smart learning button. The instructions for this Liftmaster keypad suggest that my opener is type 4 with an opener ID of 2 for programming purposes. When done this way, either the keypad will work with the opener, OR my original remotes will work with the opener, but not both. Clearly that would be unacceptable, so I tried different numbers for the opener ID, and everything worked perfectly after programming the keypad using an opener ID of 4. Perhaps it is a mistake in the instructions, or perhaps there was a running change in my opener model, who knows. The point is, if it doesn't work when programmed with the opener ID specified in the instructions, try the other ID numbers before giving up.

Other than the programming issue, it works fine. I have a newer door with full steel facing front and back, about 1.5" thick overall (IIRC the R value is something like 12.6). Some reviews mentioned signal strength issues but mine has worked 100% of the time. Mounting is easy and the slide-up cover seems adequate so far.

Followed the instructions and had it installed in under 7 minutes; literally, 7 minutes. Works perfectly.

For reference (as I couldn't find this info in a succinct fashion anywhere), here is what is printed on the back of the box in terms of Manufacturer and Frequency Compatibility:

Chamberlain 390 MHz Rolling Code
Chamberlain 315 MHz Rolling Code
Chamberlain 390 MHz Billion Code
Chamberlain 390 MHz DIP Switch (7, 8 and 9 position)

Genie 390 MHz Rolling Code (Intellicode)
Genie 315 MHz Rolling Code (Intellicode)
Genie 390 MHz DIP Switch (9 and 12 position)

Linear 300 MHz MultiCode
Linear 318 MHz MegaCode

Moore-O-Matic 310 MHz DIP Switch (8 position)

Stanley 310 MHz Rolling Code (SecureCode)
Stanley 310 MHz DIP Switch (10 position)

This device makes a great gift. For about a year now, it has worked flawlessly with our 1994 model Sears Craftsman garage door opener. The directions were good and programming was easy. I was initially concerned about two things: the lettering wearing off the keys we use, and dropping keystrokes which would cause us to have to reenter the code. Neither has been a problem. Although we use it daily, the lettering on the keys has not shown any wear yet. The keypad is good and every keystroke is reliable. I like the backlight feature - easier to see in the dark. The backlight comes on with your first keystroke and turns off automatically.

The one slight complaint I have is that the lid doesn't like to stay up by itself, after several months of use. This requires slightly more coordination for one-handed operation.

Works perfect. Installed in minutes with easy to follow instructions. Sears and Home Depot wanted double the price. Installed with Linear opener.

This device was easy to set up with my Sears Craftsman garage door opener. The only negative is that the sliding cover doesn't work very smoothly. If you close it all the way, the bottom detent is very strong, and it takes a lot of force to start sliding it open. Also, it is too easy to slide open too far, meaning the cover comes entirely off the tracks, and it takes some fiddling to get it back on. I solved both problems by installing small 'stop' screws near the end of the desired down and up travel limits.

I bought this from Amazon but it was delivered from AspDoors AND a WHOLE LOT MORE. First of all, it is identical to the one I paid $37 for at Home Depot on another house. Great price.
When I programmed the other one, it worked first time. This time, no luck. Thanks to Nancy and friends at the door company, problem was solved by email in <30 minutes.
If you have a remote that works, look at the brand and enter it's ID into the programming sequence. My Linear remote has 8 dip switches, but the Raynor has 9. Entering the Linear ID and dip switch sequence did the trick. I give this 5 stars based on price and also the fabulous support from the vendor.

Buttons are responsive and was fairly easy to pair and install. My complaints are that the cover just comes straight off (when you slide it up). There's nothing much preventing it from coming off. Also, instead of an ENTER button, you press 0 (zero). This is obviously because this is a the lowest end model and they wanted to have as few buttons as possible. But come on, couldn't it be # or * like most phone menus?

I was hesitant about getting this because I read reviews of others who said they had issues with their remotes after programming this keypad to the operator. At $12, I decided to give it a go anyway (especially considering Home Depot sells this exact model for $40!!!). I had ZERO issues getting it to program to my Liftmaster. I don't know if it's because I have a brand new operator or what, but it took 2 minutes to set up (including mounting it). The only thing I will say, which another reviewer pointed out, is that when you lift the cover to use the keypad, it's supposed to stop at a certain point. Once you go past that point, the cover comes completely off and it never really stops the way it is supposed to after that. In other words, every time you go to use the keypad, the cover comes off and you have to fool with putting it back on. To remedy this, I just put a screw into the wood of my garage just a few inches above the keypad where the lid is supposed to stop. Not a big deal to me, but it may be to some and I thought I would reiterate the issue. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.
