Bought this for my wife. She didn't want to have a ball on a string. I think those work pretty good, but she doesn't like people to know she can't park a car! I looked at the one that hangs on the wall and show red, yellow , or green. The reviews was that is wasn't real accurate or consistant. Thought, can't go wrong with a permanent mounted laser. Took me longer to get my tools around and the ladder out than it did to mount and aim this thing. Works great so far. I projected the beam to go on the center speaker on her Camaro. MOve slowly into the garage until you see the beam on the hood, make your small adjustment to align the car and stop when it the beam is within the designated area. Now she parks it with ease and I can actually get into our back door with out climbing over her car.

This is the second one I have purchased. The first one worked great but this one doesn't work at all. Sent it back for a refund.

Very easy to install: one screw holds it to the ceiling, then simply take out the wires from the sensors that let the the liftmaster know if somebody is walking underneat the door, twist these wires with those, and re-insert. Entire installation took about 5 mins, and the beam really can be pointed anywhere, allowing you to mount it anywhere is most convenient. The pulsating light is clearly visible as it moves across my dashboard, resulting in a perfect park everytime. No goofy tennis ball or flag in my garage!

Purchased 2 for our crowded garage. Can't use tennis balls since boys will use those for batting practice.

No more front end damage to trucks from running into shelving and toys. Installation needed only 4 tools including the ladder. Point the laser to the edge of the dashboard and you are done.

Why didn't I buy these sooner???

The product description is informative - worth a good read.
For a double garage with 2 cars you buy 2 units which you hook up in parallel with the IR beam circuit.
I've done this and it works out much better than two lasers mounted in one location.

Advantages of this system:
No batteries required - ever
laser positioned directly over hood of car
supports tandem and staggered parking
bright laser stays on for a minute

Installation notes:
It took me about half an hour to install.
Note that these units are quite small (about 2 inches across) and they have just one mounting screw.
The mounting hardware was adequate for the task, and I tidied it all up with a cable tie and staples to keep the stiff cords flush with the ceiling.

Setup:
With the car(s) parked in the desired location (leaving an inch of clearance from the door) I pointed the laser to a point on the imaginary center line of the dashboard where it intersects a physical seam line. This allows me to watch the dot travel across the dashboard and stop at just the right position as well as judge left to right clearance.

Terrific product once it's installed. It requires two people to install it and several trips up and down the ladder to get it placed just right. It works beautifully once installed. Parking in my garage used to be a major problem for me; I kept driving/bumping into our upright freezer which was housed in the garage. Now, it never happens. I installed a tiny piece of adhesive tape onto the dashboard of my car. When I pull into the garage and the infrared laser dot is aligned with the tape, I'm home free. No more damage to the freezer and the garage door closes with plenty of clearance at the rear end of my car.

Don't be fooled by the trickster naming of this item. It is a single laser, not two lasers. I have a 2-car garage so I was looking for a "double laser" to help me park 2 cars. This only has one laser, so I have no idea why they call it "double". Contacted the seller and got no response. Very shady. If you look at the return policy, they charge a ridiculous re-stock fee. At least eBay will back up the buyer... seems like on Amazon it's BUYER BEWARE! It's the last time I buy from a small seller.
