John Wheeler's words have been a relentless direct pointing and this latest book is no exception. In these pages there is a constant dismantling of the distractions and concepts that misdirect us from the truth of what we truly are. Arising from peace, freedom and love, the writing is clear, concise and straightforward. Fair warning...this is strong stuff and John pulls no punches. There is no future attainment, no enlightenment, no teachers, no students, no path, no suffering (except in the mind) and there is no future and no past, except as thought. There is only here and now, this ever fresh moment manifesting in consciousness, which arises in awareness. If you're looking for a laundry list of prescriptions to action, or some holy grail of enlightenment, you won't find it in these pages, which is, interestingly enough, one reason why this book can actually help "you",(insert your name), finally get past the endless seeking of the "me" character (insert your name again), see the truth of what you really are and realize that you already are what you seek. A life of absolute freedom and an end to suffering is available right here, right now...impossible??? Read this book.

Several months ago I stumbled upon a book by John Wheeler "Right Here,Right Now". Being new to the literture on non-duality (though not new to spiritual seeking)the book just blew away years of misunderstanding, misinformation and doubt about the nature of being.Since then I've read several other books on the subject, both by John and other authors and I can say with total clarity that John Wheeler has a special gift for expressing the inexpressible. His new book
"The Light Behind Consciousness" continues his theme of relentless redirecting of his questioners focus back to to the utter simplicity
of ones natural state of present awareness, no rituals, special practices, Sanskrit mumbo-jumbo or other New Age nonsense, just the fact of being.There are so many ways to be misled, so many paths that lead nowhere, practices that keep one trapped in dualistic ideas for years,
promises that "it" will happen (maybe) in the "future" if rigorous discipline and dedicated sacrifice is followed. JW's writing bypass's all of that and this book is an exceptional example of his clear and relentless pointing to the fact that you are already everything that you've been seeking.Excellant book,a permenant place on the bookshelf.

This latest book from John Wheeler is like a PhD thesis on Nonduality - if there could ever be such a thing... the very idea of a PhD on Nondual seeing is, of course, an oxymoron as NO words, no matter how well formed and eloquently expressed, can ever capture the essence of our True Nature.

That stated, the essays, dialogues and pointers in this work by one who speaks from your own Natural, Original State, directly from One to One so to say, CAN and no doubt WILL make a huge difference for those readers who are still kind of stuck in seeking for the True Self and moving from book to book, satsang to satsang, website to website - not because of it's elegance, nor because arcane spiritual concepts are explained with more concepts, but because of its stark simplicity.

For me, the thing than makes John's pointing to the naked obviousness and inescapable Isness that "we" truly are, with concepts like being, awareness, peace, timelessness, presence etc. starts from the fact - the FACT, NOT the concept, that you and I already ARE what the seeker mechanism, usually called "my mind" ... seeks.

As many have pointed out, FACTS are pretty stubborn. And as John distinguishes in many ways, the FACT of your very already always eixtence as Being-Awareness-Peace is what all that appears comes from - and this gives these writings a palpable sense that you are Oneness talking to yourself. And the Consciousness-Intelligence - that which exists as this whole production of Divine Light And Shadow - is bringing the self back home to The Self.

Gawd, this is a superb book! Yet, as John tends to point out often, reading about nonduality can just become an endless loop-the-loop of conceptual avoidance of a direct and simple message that is best shared One on One. He urges the reader to talk directly with the author of whatever YOUR favorite expression of nonduality or concept-free spirituality. This is how it happened for me; meeting John after thirty years of futile practices and endless books and satsangs, John Wheeler quickly and kindly answered all my questions and made certain that all my doubts were resolved. The clarity and love of light of John's Being was the final key to unlocking a gate that was never locked and recognizing the clear obviousness presence of the Self that was never lost!

If you assume you are a seeker separated from the light of being, and that thought-form were to ask my advice regarding the possibility of recovering the home in freedom that you never left, I would, from this timeless locationless sense of being-living-peace, say, please read this book and then get in touch with John Wheeler to resolve and dissolve any remaining confusion abut who and what you are, and equally importantly, who and what you are not.

If you are "enjoying" your spiritual life- reading spiritual books, watching videos, going to satsang, following teachers with funny names about, getting enlightened, developing your psycho-spiritual being, opening your chakras, consciously evolving, going deeper, understanding more, then don't read this book! John's books are not about feeding "your" spiritual life but rather ending it by the simple and direct recognition of your true nature, this Light Behind Consciousness which is prior to the conceptual mind and yet completely illuminates it.
Because this recognition is so simple and direct, there is nothing the conceptual mind can do with it or about it. There are no practices, no philosophy, no beliefs. There is nothing in this pointing for a separate "me" to do.
Fortunately, John has infinite patience dealing with the confusion and questions of the mind as he helps the "reader" recognize what they always already are. As 'Sailor' Bob says, "This is simplicity itself."

John's writing is wonderful. He is a wonderful writer and this is my favorite
of all his books. The first fifty or sixty pages is so concentrated
and so complete I have lost count of how many times I have read
them. (Don't get me wrong, the rest of the book is great too!)
Highly recommended if you want to end the seeking.

Like a pebble falling into a clear, still lake, the words of John Wheeler ripple, vibrate and return from the stillness from where they came. Following any of these ripples will dissolve the identity of the one who comes to listen and be released from suffering and seeking.

Pure humility and an unassuming presence bring the message John delivers. When these words are allowed to penetrate to the source which is both the listener and the speaker, the magic of your pure self nature will reveal itself. Nothing can be a greater joy than to know without a doubt that you are that which gives birth to the world, the body, and the whole universe.

John's clear pointers take any sincere advocate of truth to the place we never left. Our true home is finally revealed, as the outer illusions of the person we thought we were are unmasked. One of the translations of the word persona is "mask". Before John's pure truth and simplicity we are "unmasked". Finally, one is free to be that which has no limits, no suffering, and no ignorance.

Why not allow these pointers to reveal that you are the essence of the universe, always free from suffering. The limitations of the person you believed you were can now be revealed to be false.

As the word "amen" means so be it. So be it that the pointers to the end of suffering are made perfectly clear. All suffering and seeking can end this very moment.

John Wheeler writes very clearly about non-duality. I ordered about 20 non-duality books from Amazon by various writers, and John Wheeler's books were definitely the ones that impressed me the most by using the clearest and simplest language. I highly recommend John Wheeler's books if you are interested in non-duality.

It is a joy and pleasure to read this book. It comes from a confident, articulate, mature and compassionate place. Confusion and doubt cannot withstand this bright light.

To recycle an old Alan Watts' title, "THIS IS IT"! If you are truly seeking an "unassailably logical exposition" of the "Absolute Truth and/or the True Nature of Being" (to the extent that THAT can be related in relative words), SELF to SELF (ONE to ONE) Communiqués, and "Clear Pointers" to the "Ultimate Reality I Am, You Are and All Is" (referred to by Tony Parson's as the "Open Secret"), you have found It in John Wheeler's latest Offering of the "Pure Grace of Being" in an exquisitely written and beautiful form. This Is Really Is It!!! Of course, "It's All It," but You already know That. John Wheeler is a genuine living jnani who understands the same deep truth that Nisargadatta and Ramana have described. His style is very, very direct, and his writing cuts to the chase with absolutely no filler material. Unlike the many mercenary "spiritual teachers/gurus" out there on the Web, who only skim the surface, John speaks directly from the heart and delves much, much deeper than anyone else I have come across, and he has no ulterior motive other than to dispel ignorance of seekers who turn to him for advice. I have spoken over the phone, communicated with him via e-mail and actually met with him in person (while attending a convention in California, although I actually live on the East Coast). He has been extremely generous with his time, and yet he expects nothing in return except for us to awaken to Truth. He keeps pointing with laser-like precision to the Truth, relentlessly pointing until our mind can no longer keep wandering and our false ego can no longer be maintained, until everything subsides into the divine primal Pure Awareness that contains and expresses everything. My 30-year spiritual search has ended thanks to John. Ten stars would not be enough!!!
