5.0 out of 5 stars Uplifting and mood-setting.
This album was the first I had heard from Ronny Jordan and I am definately hooked. He incorporates a lot of different styles in this album which I think is what made me go right out and get this CD. Whatever he did, he did it with style and grace.

3.0 out of 5 stars Last CD for Island records
Reading alot of the reviews for this CD, the general opinion is that this is Ronny's best work. I liked this CD, fav cuts being Deep in your Heart: Homage, and my Favourite cut Light to Dark.I don't think this is his best work, as I feel that Off the Record holds that accolade.

Iam one of R.J's biggest fans. I have loved his music since I first heard the Antidote back in 93. I have all of his releases and looking forward to the next. In fact if you are reading this Ronny hurry up.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best release bt the Best Jazz Guitarist in years, January 30, 2002

Ronny Jordan has always been a great jazz guitarist. With his unusual urban style, his take on the legendary Miles Davis's classic "So What" and his impressive guest work with Jazz-Rap Guru, Jordan is one of the shining stars of Jazz.

Having heeard all his albums including his new one released last year, I can easily say taht Light To Dark is his best work. Best cuts would have to be Homage, It's You, Fooled and I see you. Even though he has seemed to move back to his rap-influenced beginnings, Jordan has a great deal of talent and will go even further than he already has.

R Jordan is a one of a kind. This is more hip hoppy but he is truly what a modern day Wes Montgomery would be albeit jazzed up, funked up, hip hop upped, and down right nasty, nasty good that is.

Love the piece,

If you love the sounds of George Benson, Wes Montgomery, Norman Brown and Paul Brown??? Well add Ronny Jordan

to the melting pot, the sounds of the guitar hits you real good to the core of anyone's soul with a few romantic

soulful ballads like Closer than close, Deep in your heart (which delivers a little rift of El DeBarge's All this

Love), and if you're the type of person(s) who cruise at night riding solo or if you're with your significant other,

Laidback is what it does, makes you wanna jus laidback and escape from it all.

Soulful. Romantic. and with a few upbeat tracks like I see you, Downtime, and It's you, Ronny Jordan delivers it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Geeta, September 23, 2010

The first time I even heard of Ronny Jordan was when his name popped up on [...]. I played the song, then I "fell in love" with Ron. I not only like his guitar playing, but his instrumental accompanyment is outstanding to me. I love the background keyboards, the funky grooves of his songs, and the background vocals too. He almost has a "Hip-Hoppish", "R and B-ish" tone to some of his songs, and I dig that. I've already ordered 2 of his CD"S ..... Much props to you Ron.

I think this CD ranks fourth behind Ronny's other CD's: The Antidote, A Brighter Day and At Last. Those CD's were excellent, this is very good. However, I like more each time I listen to it.

Having been spoiled by Jordan's previous works, it is hard to accept anything less, but still a good cd.

I'm a big big fan of Ronny Jordan and I have all of his CD's, so I can credibly say that Light to Dark is his best album. Every song is contemporary and totally competative with any of the more popular music that came out the same year this did. If only Ronny got the props he deserves.
