This review is from: A Light In the Darkness (Paperback)
This guy is an incredible writer!! Wait until you read his character descriptions and scenic imagery. He is a very gifted writer. Sit down with some warm tea, a blanket, and a fire. Get ready for a sweet read! If this is the beginning, I can't imagine what he will be writing in ten years!!! This is a must read.

Somebody get this to Oprah!,

Since I know the author and his family, I kind of put off reading the book because I didn't want to have to "say something" if I really didn't like it or think it was that good. That and the fact it's almost 500 pages!I am an avid book lover/reader--not romance novels but a wide range of writers and a lot of non-fiction. Last summer about this time I was one of the millions in Oprah's Book Club working my way through "East of Eden," which I loved. I only mention this because I think "A Light in the Darkness" has the same compelling qualities that make "East of Eden" great--strong character development, descriptions that give "you are there" details of all the heroine's sensory experiences, and a "story" everyone will be touched by in some way. Mr. Klug is so adept at turning a phrase that I ended up highlighting many passages! Like Steinbeck, he addresses good and evil in a manner that brings it home, is honest, real and practical. Unlike Steinbeck, Mr. Klug seems to have gotten a lot further in his understanding of the spiritual background of life. When I finished the book, I did not feel it should have been shorter but rather that sadness one feels when one bids "goodbye" to the characters at the end of a good read. The only thing left to say is, "Corban Klug, when will there be more?!"

Good overcomes evil,
By A Customer
This review is from: A Light In the Darkness (Paperback)
This is an inspirational story for anyone who has felt or feels defeated by abuse. I found myself cheering Abigail's new found hope and faith in God. There is a light in the darkness and it is inside each of us. This story reminds us that we are "our brother's keeper".

I was immediately drawn into the story and the lives of Abigail and Gerhard as if I were living with them. They became real people in my life who I know and love as friends. The story gripped me. The tears flowed many times. I could not put the book down. From the very beginning there was an unending suspense of what might happen next. It is about life and relationships--the good and the bad--an intertwining of the challenges, the victories, the defeats...and the possibilities.

I Loved It!,
By A Customer
This review is from: A Light In the Darkness (Paperback)
One night I read until 3 a.m. because I didn't want to put this book down! I awoke the next morning wondering what Abigail and Gerhard were doing that day, as though they were my real friends! Watching Abigail learn to see the Light in the darkness was truly inspiring and I will be keeping a few of these books on hand for gift-giving!
