5.0 out of 5 stars a profound little volume
Phillip Jones is a tender friend to the whole human soul. His writing transcends terms like 'Eastern,' 'Western,' or 'Indigenous.'

I felt the breathing and the heartbeat of God when I read this profound little volume. We all lose someone; we all die. For Jones, death is the Great Intimacy, the return, the birth from time into eternity.

3.0 out of 5 stars Unfortunately, didn't help my mom
I bought this book for my mom whose days were numbered. I bought it based on the reviews that it was a comforting book etc. etc. I read it and thought it was okay but my mother didn't. She gave it to my sister telling her not to tell me and said " do you want this book, so and so gave it to me but I don't want it, it doesn't do anything for me"?? She was born and...

Jones as such is a midwife of God, supporting our awakening and return to our Source. Read this book and absorb its reverence. I want Jones present at my death!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read For Everyone!, September 12, 2007
This review is from: Light on Death: The Spiritual Art of Dying (Hardcover)
This easy to read, yet very insightful and inspirational book is by far the best book I have ever read on this subject. In many ways it stands out above the rest because it has some really unique information not found out there in other books on the market. I love it. It has helped me so much! I'm in my early 40's and I have already gone through more than one sudden and unexpected brushes with death. I say this book is a must for everyone because we all need to be prepared for death and to overcome our fears of it. Whether you have a love one who has died or is dying or just want to overcome the fear and be prepared for that unknown moment yourself, this book is great---it's truly an inspiration for all of us! Beautiful pictures & design. I'll be recommending it to many people.

Light on Death: The Spiritual Art of Dying addresses the issues each of us faces when confronted with the pending loss of those we love. This book provides clear and direct guidance for supporting loved ones during their final right of passage. I found this book to be most uplifting, and I recommend it to any and all.

She gave it to my sister telling her not to tell me and said " do you want this book, so and so gave it to me but I don't want it, it doesn't do anything for me"?? She was born and raised Catholic. So... this book did not provide comfort to a loved one after all.
