Kids call these Spah-forks not spork. 3 kids, 6, 7, and 8 use these daily. Eating applesauce, pears, pineapple, corn, hamburger patties, cut lunch meats with knife on it and pork chops. They've eaten cereal with these just because. They like them a lot. I used once just to test fit and function. Handle good size, maybe short for my big hands, but perfect for kids. I like the compactness for kid's lunches. Spoon isn't deep, but do-able. Fork good size, knife cut my pork chops well. Kids haven't complained about knife against cheek or lip. So no problem there.

These are light and simple. I decided to try them to avoid scratching a new titanium pot with a nonstick coating (yes, I eat out of the pot). They don't fold, so they won't pack into the pot. They are breakable, so you might find yourself with a spork with duct tape if you're rough on equipment. But , given that my requirements are simple -- shovel food from pot to mouth after hiking all day -- they are very effective and get five stars.

Simple and a good price for a four pack. I lost my spork on a trip to Mt. Whitney so why not buy 4 instead of just one :). These are a great item to bring. They're light, durable, and don't take up much room in the back country. Would have given them 5 stars if they were a little more stiff, this could have been solved by molding a ridge into the spork.

Cheers,
Mark

My wife bought a set of these for me and they seemed to work just fine until I tried to cut a notch into the rind of an orange. Once it came in contact with the rind, the plastic weakened and started crumbling. I tested other parts of the spork with the same results.

All of them snapped under light use like scooping oatmeal. All my freinds had theirs snap too. they all snap in EXACTLY the same spot so it's a design defect. Otherwise is a great idea, just poorly made.

I have a big bag of these sporks and they hold up well for eating (not prepping) meals while camping. They weigh about the same as titanium and are quite a bit cheaper. However consider that you will only get 8-10 uses out of them before you start using them to breakage.

For backpackers, this means that you need to pack at least one spare spork before heading out. So you've effectively doubled the weight and price of the spork. Otherwise you'll be stuck with two half-length kni-fork and spoon nubs. Better to go with titanium, which will last forever, can be handed down to your kids, and is not really that expensive.

Trying to pull peanut butter out of a jar? You will break the spork. Using it like a knife to try to cut a firm food? You will break the spork. Dropped it in the bottom of a stuff sack with your stove? You will break the spork.

For car camping it's a good item, great for large parties and occasional use. If you count on a spork you'll spring for a durable one though.

Bought these for bug out bags. I had to buy a second set because my kids don't want to eat with any other utensil. My four, seven and nine year olds have been using them daily for two years now. They go through the dishwasher every day and have been dropped on the floor and stepped on. They like to use the knife edge to cut things like waffles or ham. We have not had one break yet and that says a lot in this family. They are pretty big, definitely full sized flatwear. The look slightly ridiculous in the hand of a two year old, but he loved it.
