5.0 out of 5 stars A Practical Guide to Laser Therapy
Chris Turchin presents in a very uncomplicated and organized fashion the many applications of laser therapy across multiple disciplines. He takes great care in his descriptions of various clinical procedures, the type of lasers used and their parameter settings, so that they can be easily duplicated on a clinical level. The introductory section offers a very intuitive...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Really a Clinician's Manual
A disappointment. I was looking for techniques in using the cold laser. This is a book of well-organized information that can be found anywhere on the internet. I was looking for the typical instruction manual, not a general re-hash of all info that is easily available on wave lengths, power, and such. In the clinical setting, it would have been nice to see how these...

Chris Turchin presents in a very uncomplicated and organized fashion the many applications of laser therapy across multiple disciplines. He takes great care in his descriptions of various clinical procedures, the type of lasers used and their parameter settings, so that they can be easily duplicated on a clinical level. The introductory section offers a very intuitive section on laser physics and background as it applies to health care application. References and citations are very well chosen and very substantiative. As a whole, this book is a very good book for any clinician who utilizes laser therapy as part of his treatment repertoire.

"I was uneducated on light and laser therapy until I read Dr. Turchin's book on clinical procedures. I now have a more comprehensive knowledge of this amazing science! Dr. Turchin's book is easy to understand. I especially appreciate the illustrations throughout the book. They provide simple yet effective pictures that answered many of my questions. I highly recommend Dr. Turchin's book to anyone who is interested in learning more about light and laser therapy.....this book is a great resource to own for any office, school, professional or home library! This is a great straight forward book. Cuts through all the smoke and mirrors. If you want to use laser therapy in your practice, this is the book for you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Really a Clinician's Manual, October 25, 2011

This review is from: Light and Laser Therapy: Clinical Procedures (Spiral-bound)
A disappointment. I was looking for techniques in using the cold laser. This is a book of well-organized information that can be found anywhere on the internet. I was looking for the typical instruction manual, not a general re-hash of all info that is easily available on wave lengths, power, and such. In the clinical setting, it would have been nice to see how these facts were applied to various conditions. And, better, recommendations of techniques from the author's experience. For instance, there are times that trigger point laser therapy might be better than using the basic laser wand or times the super pulsed laser might be far more effective. I'm sorry, but I learned nothing, I read through it once and put it on the shelf. The author gives his email for questions or suggestions for laser use (can't remember how it was worded), but I felt his book should have given the reader this information and the practical application of cold laser therapy. Had I not started to highlight the book, I would have returned it.
