5.0 out of 5 stars Boring...
This is the most boring cd I own. So why did I give it 5 stars?

Because it is amazing! Simple as that. I first got the cd when my friend told me I might like them, so I checked them out and at first wasn't impressed. It sounded sooo boring I shut it off at first. After the third time listening to it I knew I was completely wrong. TBM's Light a Match is...

2.0 out of 5 stars No where near as good as Thrice...
I can't believe I've been hearing all these good things about this band, because they just aren't that good. They sound just like every other band like it, but without the edge. They are, just like another reviewer said...blah. Very boring. Guitar playing is average, singing is average, songs in general are average. Theres nothing special here. No where near as polished...

Check it out.

This album has it all emotion, feeling, belief... When i first heard this band I swear I didnt stop listening to them for at least a month. The Beautiful Mistake has created a master piece. I definately recomend this album to anyone who can appreciate good wholesome quality screamo.

this is a great album. its really great with the perfect mix of singing and screaming... the guitars are so tech too! its like no other hardcore/emo album i have ever heard. the best songs on this album are "anonymous vs. california" and "for a friend" what makes them great? the breakdown at the end of "anonymous vs. california" and the blend of singing and sreaming at the end of "for a friend" A 5 STAR ALBUM FOR SURE!

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome, July 23, 2003
This review is from: Light A Match For I Deserve To Burn (Audio CD)
This album is awesome. Anyone who says this is generic hardcore music doesn't know anything at all. The musicianship on this album is amazing. The lyrics are outstanding and very emotional. The vocals do not sound at all like any of those typical pop punk hardcore bands.... Buy this album if you want to hear an original, emotional, well written and well produced piece of art. They are also a local group which is cool!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sonic Assault, November 9, 2003

Anyone who believes this album is less than inspired has to be either deaf, or just ignorant. The Beautiful Mistakes vocals, and instrumentals trancend the heap of emo bands out there and go beyond the best out there today. Seeing this band live only cements the fact this band is not joking around. Good luck finding any other band that exemplifies a movement more than this band, and the sound of this album. Crank it up and hear the Purity.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Record..., June 8, 2004

Well, i've had this cd for a while now. At first i was kinda undecided about it, but i realize now after many listens that this is just an overall great record. Too many people try to categorize this band and compare them to other bands and then are upset when they don't quite fit. The Beautiful Mistake is a band you have to listen to with an open mind and with the realization that they're just not like any other band out there. They combine beautiful melodies with screaming and wonderfull vocal crooning to create something incredible. If you enjoy this style of music (emo/screamo) don't hesitate, Light a Match.

4.0 out of 5 stars My favorite, brilliant album, April 8, 2010

Simply my favorite material from The Beautiful Mistake. I still think they're one of the best bands I've ever listened to. I've been listening to them since they were on [...]. I wish they're still making albums like this. Totally awesome, go get the album, it'll be the best album you heard in a long time. Ever heard Story of The Year claiming themselves a post-hardcore band? No way, THAT is pop, THIS is real post-hardcore sound right here.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Emo CD I've heard, June 28, 2004
By
This review is from: Light A Match For I Deserve To Burn (Audio CD)
This is a great CD, TBM's first full release. The songs are meaningfull and powerful and not too over done as some are in their new CD This Is Who You Are. I cannot say how much i love this CD. This is a must have for Emo fans. From chilling vocals and guitars to powerful screaming Light A Match has some just plain great music. It is beautiful and still rocks hard. Don't miss out on this CD. TBM rocks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Waiting on "This Is Who You Are", March 1, 2004

The CD as a whole was great. Though, it lacked a few key elements I looked for in a full length LP. I loved the opening track "On Building". What better way to start out an album than "I never said I'd prove it, I only said I'd show it."? "Circular Parade" is one of the better songs I've heard. "Lancaster, Pa" is good. The rest are kind of mediocre. I'm looking forward to "This Is Who You Are", the title track sounds good already, and the guys played some new stuff live this past Friday the 27th.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes me want to say...YARR!, February 15, 2004
This review is from: Light A Match For I Deserve To Burn (Audio CD)
Well this cd is awesome, and I've only given it a couple of listens. Not necessarily the most musically complex cd, but it's very good and full of pure, raw emotion. This must overthrow Thrice or Thursday anyway, but these guys are just way less heard for some reason. If you're in the mood for indefinite "scream-o" then purchase this album immediately. However, as one reviewer said, if you're into Bright Eyes or Cursive -esque music, you probably wouldn't care for it. Even though I do like Bright Eyes and Cursive...odd. Circular Parade is one of my most favorite songs ever.
