Need to vist Camargue!,

Could this book be any more beautiful and descriptive of such an intriguing setting/location for a story? I found myself researching Camargue and the white horses that inhabit the salt marshes of this Southern France locale. I viisted Provance, France in May, 2007 and now feel the need to return to observe first-hand this special and historic area of the country. Luanne Rice has written a fulfilling story with troubled, but endearing, characters and leaves the reader wanting more. 5 stars for this wonderful book!

Light of the Moon is the first Luanne Rice book I have ever read. I could not put the book down. It was exciting, and thrilling for me to step into the shoes of the characters in this novel. I felt alot of emotions... love, hurt, want, desire and need for one's mother in a girls life not matter the age. you will be not diapointed!!

Very Disappointing,
By
This review is from: Light of the Moon (Hardcover)
I have read all of Luanne Rice's books and was very disappointed in this one. Her writing is very contrived, simplistic and choppy. It lacked depth, substance and flow. It almost seemed to me that she threw this together in a week or so. I actually had to force myself to finish reading it. Many of her books are very predictable (as is this one), but still enjoyable to read. I felt the quality of her writing in this book was sorely lacking.

Wonderful Story!,

This was the first of her books I've read, and I'm DEFINATELY going to read more! This story was a beautiful romantic soul-searcher. It has a bit of a 'Horse Whisperer' feel to it, though there are no married persons involved, and this is a good example that a story can be all you think it should be to be satisfying without the smut and language that so many authors put in their books these days. The end also was not what I expected. Normally in a romance he meets her, you know they're going to end up together, the only thing left is to read the story to find out how. Not so in this book. The setting was a bit difficult for me. I had a hard time with the names of the towns, and I'm afraid I don't have much of an imagination when it comes to far away places. But the story was so good that those limitations didn't matter. A good romance, a good horse book, a great page-turner for sure.

not up to par,

I am a huge fan of Luanne Rice, but this book disappointed me. I found it boring and difficult to get into. This surprises me as I love horses and the theme really appeals to me. But I found the child to be just too over the top and difficult to relate to. (I feel I can make that statement since I share a similar background.) I did enjoy the history of the area, but I had to force myself to finish the book. It also seemed that the ending was just too unreal. If the child was that much of a basket case, it seemed unlikely all would be solved in an instant.

I am a huge Luanne Rice fan , though I believe some are better than others. I love her emotional connection that you feel to her characters.
I loved this book and hating the fact that it ended. I felt like she made you feel the love of the horses, the feel of France and the emotional pain of the characters. I recommend it. Laurie

One of the Best Book I've Read,
This review is from: Light of the Moon (Hardcover)
I just finished this book and it was one of those you never wanted to end. I LOVED it. I have only read a few of Rice's books and have loved all of them. This is well worth the time and money. I could really feel the emotions and connections of all the characters. MUST READ!!!!!

I am a fan of Luanne Rice. Although this one is a bit slow to get gong it is well worth the needed push to get into it. Once I was in to the story I literally did not put it down until I was done! Thank you Luanne for another fantastic story. I always feel like I KNOW your characters and this one was no exception.

I have read many of Luanne Rice's books and have never been disappointed.
She has the ability to make you feel the characters emotions. Light of the Moon was no exception. She made you able to see & feel what the Susannah & Grey were experiencing. She makes Caramague (spelling?) sound so beautiful that I feel like going there. |
