Mess Kit for Boy Scout, May 14, 2007
The Light My Fire Outdoor MealKit was purchased for my son who is new to Boy Scouts. He used it on his first campout and it performed great. All the equipment is made of tough materials, you can tell it is going to last a long time. Everything stores together neatly and is a spacesaver in the backpack.

Looks nice, useful, but not great, July 9, 2010
This review is from: Light My Fire Outdoor MealKit (Sports)
I was quite excited to receive this in time for my car camping trip at Lake Isabella, CA. It was decently light and is pretty compact for what it holds inside.
However, when I started using it, I realized that it is not without it's disadvantages.
Firstly if you eat anything liquid and try to mix it, the triangular shape will cause you to splash it's contents very easily. I experienced the same problem when cleaning - when you reach a corner, water will most likely splash out.
Clean it gently you ask? The biggest issue I had with this container though, is that the material does not clean well. I have to go over it three times with concentrated detergent just to get the smell out. Afterwards, there is still a slippery, oily feel to it. I'm not sure what is causing this, as I've purchased ultra-cheap, disposable air-tight containers that were less of a hassle.
I gave it another chance on a backpacking trip, but now I'm sure I won't be taking this with my anywhere without a kitchen sink.
Lastly, I purchased this along with a
Light My Fire Titanium Spork, which I think is great, but it does not fit well inside with all the cups and containers.
All in all, it's a decent, durable, good looking container that's relatively compact, but I would not purchase another one.

Great lunchkits, no wasted paper or plastic, March 12, 2008

I bought these for my children. they make excellent lunch kits and I am not using wasteful bags and wraps.
I also bought the harness for my son, he can hook it on his belt or backpack.
