This review is from: Light for the Orphans (Story Line Press First Book Series) (Paperback)
Wilmer Mills first book, "Light for the Orphans", is one of the first books in Story Line Press' new First Book Series. And it is a strong choice to start the series with. Mills is a sawmill operator in Tennessee, who is from Louisana, and grew up in a Presbyterian missionary in Brazil. The southern roots show in his work. The voice used in the poems is that of the south, the country. Almost every poem is a narrative poem or dramatic monologue. And almost every poem is a good one. This collection is full of interesting characters telling their stories. If you like narrative poetry, then there is no doubt you'll like this collection.
