Epic Fantasy,

This review is from: Light of Requiem (Song of Dragons, Book 3) (Kindle Edition)
When I received a Kindle Fire for the holidays the first place I looked for something to read was in the Fantasy/Sci-Fi genre. "Light of Requiem" was one of the first titles recommended. I read the synopsis, and decided to borrow it from amazon. After reading the first book I was hooked, from it's beautifully described scenery to it's intense and truly epic battle scenes and it's raw, good vs. evil characters the entire book was a pleasure to get lost in. If you love those intense moments of despair and desperation, humanity and insanity, love, romance and desire then these books are for you. They have it all :) Daniel Arenson's concept of the Vir Requis is fascinating and majestic. I went back and bought the first, second Tears of Requiem: Song of Dragons, Book 2 and third books Blood of Requiem and I recommend that you do the same! I promise that you won't be disappointed!

This was a great follow up to the first two books. The story kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't wait to see how it ended. But then when I got to the end I wanted more all three books had me hooked, I am fairly new to Fantasy Adventure but in the past six months I have read a lot and I have to say this series will always be at the top of my list. Cant wait for the next one!

Awesome Series,
This review is from: Light of Requiem (Song of Dragons, Book 3) (Kindle Edition)
This guy is a great author! I've read different fantasy books about dragons but some authors just mess it up. But this guy, no, he did an awesome job especially with the details.

This author is not very well known, but if they keep writing like this, they will be. The author has a similar style to R.R. Martin, just not as specific (I think that is the correct word). This book/series is hard to put down. Do yourself the favor and buy it! Enjoy.

Light of Requiem: Song of Dragons, Book 3I am a huge fan of dragon fantasy novels and was so amazed at how imaginative this book was! If you love authors like Christopher Paolini and R.R Martin you will become a HUGE fan of Daniel Arenson! This is definately a book you will not be able to put down or get enough off. You will constantly keep craving for more! Will our wings forever find your sky!

A good conclusion to a good story. Kudos to the author for actually wrapping the story up in this third volume and delivering a satisfying ending.

Too much fighting,
This review is from: Light of Requiem: Song of Dragons, Book 3 (Paperback)
I loved the first two books of the series. I finished each in about two days. However, this one seemed to be battle, battle, another battle, and minor fights and skirmishes in between battles. I've read lots of books with 1 or 2 good battles, ending with a super epic one, but in this case there were too many to make the ending as good as it could have been. Also, there was little story/character development. Overall, I loved the Song of Dragons trilogy, and I have high hopes for more books from this author.

I think Arenson has done a great job with the third installment of Song of Dragons. I have to say, this is my favourite book out of the series. It was dark, creepy, scary, but underneath it all, there was hope. At times I was scared, other times, I was sad. It's a sign of a truly great book when it can evoke so much different emotions from a reader. Every page was carefully painted for me and the words seemed to come to life.I look forward to reading more books from Arenson! Keep 'em coming!

so i got this book because its the third in the series. the first book was great, the second started to push for story. the third is predictable and only worth the read to get the conclusion of the story and could be condensed to 1/4 the length.Spoiler Alert: i recap some of the plot and im hoping it is after the break. the story goes as follows: primary characters battle a small force that seems large but its still early so you know they will win. an unsurprising death put in to try and revive the plot. another battle with a larger force. figure out how bad guy is making the giant force go to find out for sure. break in with sub plot desperately trying to bring readers back with new characters. half the party gets captured the other half hack and slashes their way to rescue. one of the party is on deaths door and characters from earlier in the series show up. summon the great races of the world and defeat the bad guy in giant battle. major character dies during battle. wind down to a happily ever after finish with the main love story. all in all if Arenson would have had more story it might have been worth the read but this could have been ended after the second book by making it a couple pages longer. |
