This is a great start to this series by RaeAnne - this story is about the oldest brother of the family and how he finds love. It helps to read this book before you read the others in the series about Jake the doctor brother and Seth the ladies man brother, but it doesn't matter really if you read them out of order - you just know too much if you don't read them in the linear order.
The hero in this book is a very likeable character and the heroine is a modern woman, independent and strong. The story follows Wade Dalton's transformation from workaholic rancher with 3 kids, to hardworking father of 3 kids. He meets Caroline, the daughter of the man his mother eloped with, when she turns up on his door step and ends up helping him out with his kids because he doesn't have anyone else. Somewhere along the way they stop butting heads long enough to develop feelings for each other, and the rest is history. Definitely worth a read, but the second in the series about Jake "Dancing in the Moonlight" is a five star read (I only gave this one 4 stars), so read this one first and then sit back and enjoy the second book too!

Couldn't put this book down! Thoroughly enjoyed the characters and story. Wasn't ready for the story to end though -could have used another few pages at the ending.

I read this book after reading the second in the Series. I hadn't realized it was a Series when I purchased this book. However, it really didn't destroy the feeling I have about the Dalton family. I love each and every one of them! This Author is one of my favorites and I have to confess, I have many of her books on my Kindle. Her stories make me want to go live in Cold Creek. Start with this story and watch the family dynamics which include children, disabled veteran, new babies, wayward teenager, neighbors and friends.

Only one problem with this book ...,

This review is from: Light The Stars (Silhouette Special Edition) (Mass Market Paperback)
The only problem with this book was that I wasn't ready for it to end. I got this from the library in a Special Edition with Tea and Destiny (by Sherryl Woods). Even though it came second in the book, I read it first. This was my first book by this author, but now I plan to get all of the books in this series. Strong main characters who have good reason to dislike each other at first, even as they strike sparks off one another, made this a joy to read. Throw in three kids, some ranch critters, Wade's brothers, and Wade's and Caroline's parents, mix well and sit down to enjoy. The perfect curl up and read book.
