The author, who is one of the leading experts in the field of tent structures, introduces the basic concepts and methods of design of these structures in a readable, non-technical way. Most valuable are the numerous case studies of some of the best tent structures, (most of which were engineered by Berger) in which he discusses not only the physical characteristics and behavior of these elegant structures, but also their design and construction processes. The numerous dramatic color photographs alone are worth the price of this book. A must for every architect or layman interested in the subject.
