I read this book not that long a go and loved it! Louise and Jean Dana are introduced perfectly for the beginning of the series. Louise is shown as the 17 year old ,smart, and cautious girl. While Jean ( my favorite) is shown as the younger 16 year old, brave, and clever girl.The mystery is very exciting which involves a rare study lamp the girls receive from their Uncle ( the sea captain of the Balaska!) The Dana's are up there with Nancy Drew! These are classic, old fashioned, and great mystery books. Read this! You know you'll love them!
