this is simply the Afters best album to date. the songs are amazing and the lyrics are focused 100% on God. best songs in my opinion would definitely be Light up the Sky, Start Over, For the First Time, Life is Sweeter, and Lift Me Up. See thats already half of the album, they are all just too good! like i said AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me start off by saying that The Afters are my favorite Christian band. Their roots as Starbucks employees (though the original band is no longer intact) makes for a good story, and they - Josh, the lead singer, in particular - really seem like godly, down-to-earth individuals.

So, needless to say, I was excited about this album. Their debut album, "I Wish We All Could Win," was downright amazing. I was left wanting with "Never Going Back to OK," so I wasn't really expecting much for "Light Up the Sky."

As it turns out, it's a very good album. However, it easily could have been great. I feel that it's overproduced. For example, the computerized background vocals on "Say It Now" prevent it from being a heartfelt song that I can truly appreciate. Really, how can I have an emotional response when it sounds like a robot is singing backup?

Anyway, the songwriting is pretty solid and the record would probably fair well as an acoustic version or something of that sort.

Excellent!!! After listening to the sample clips I was drawn in by the great sound quality. After listening several times through I realize it is even better than I thought it would be. If you like the clips you'll love the rest.

Every single song is fantastic. The Afters have done a really good job at writing poetic, meaningful lyrics, and displaying them with music that can be listened to on repeat for days on end.

This disc is excellent. I was drawn to it from hearing the title track on the radio however I enjoy all 10 songs because they are so uplifting. The songs are somewhat fast yet relaxing at the same time.(If you want a real surprise listen to the ninth and tenth single. Saving Grace and For the first time.) I would definitely recommend buying this disc. In fact I may buy a couple more for family members.

I'd heard this group before. I'm glad I ordered this cd. Where we live it's hard to get a good Christian radio station. So I just purchase and download on my computer. I really like this group's songs on this album. I hope they keep producing great songs that speak to people's hearts!! Thanks!! God bless this group!

I always have praise music on when I'm at home, in the car, or at work. But the local radio station sometimes has programs on that I don't need, I'm not married, and I have no children, so although programs like Focus on the Family are great, I'm not really interested in learning how to discplin my children, or make my marriage last. When this happens, I have only 2 praise CD's and this is one of them. Always worth the price, always Bible based praise, and usually the first CD I reach for!

Light up the Sky is one of the most uplifting CD's I have ever heard. I love it from beginning to end.

CD was for nine year old who saw them in concert but, the whole family loves it. It is a roadtrip favorite!

All my family loves this group--my husband, and teenage sons and daughter--and that says a lot! Awesome, uplifting, Spirit-filled! Need all that!!
