Volume II presents in-depth explanations of the Vajrajana Buddhist perspective. It begins with the nature of empowerment and the tantric commitments followed by clarification of the development stage.

This treasure from Guru Rinpoche, explained by Jamgon Kongtrul, and other masters is wonderful.

The concise root text is amazingly sharp and inspiring. Still warm from the breath of the dakinis, as it is sometimes said. The commentary by Jamgon Kongtrul makes the difficult and subtle passages more easily available, and the elaborate notes with teachings from many other masters is full of interesting and clarifying details. There is also a quite large index.

I will read this book over and over again, and pray that Erik Pema Kunsang finishes the following volumes. Volume I is also great.

An excellent translation of one the most important buddhist texts. The commentary and notes are extremely useful to the seriuos student of Tibetan buddhist philosophy. A work that you'll look up again and again. Maybe not the easiest text for the beginner, but definitely worth the read. I'm very much looking forward to Vol.'s III, IV... Make sure you get Vol.I as well !
