"Light Years" is definitely an album worth purchasing. If you like her latest album "Fever", then chances are that you're going to like this one just as much. The sounds are very eclectic on the cd, From disco sounds to futuristic waves. Kylies voice is also better than ever!!! Some songs from this cd that really stand out are: -Spinning around (which some may have heard the mixed version of before but not have known it was Miss Kylie) -on a night like this -Butterfly (Is on the album Fever but taken from this one. A great song) -Love boat (fun, catchy song) -so now goodbye - Light Years (probably the best song on this album. So strong, and out there it will give u chills :)

Amazing album by Kylie. If you are a Kylie enthusiast, then you should get this one. It's a happier side of Kylie on this one. It's dancy like always. Her voice is the same on every album but her voice is amazing so there's no problem. Very disco album. Get it if you appreciate Kylie.
5 out of 5 start no doubt. Recommend it!!!!

In the year 2000 Kylie released "Light Years" and it was labeled as her comeback album after 1997's "Impossible Princess". Impossible Princess was a fantastic artistic masterpiece. But Kylie returned true to form with this album and scored a big success with it, and then doubled her success the next year with "Fever" i might add. Light Years is a strong dance-pop album but also contains elements of disco music in numerous tracks. The album was made an a homage to disco. Take a look at the tracks:
#1 SPINNING AROUND - definately the best song on the album. Kylie was very wise to release this as the first single. It is dance-pop at its best and also has slight elements of disco in some places. #2 ON A NIGHT LIKE THIS - great dance-pop song which was released as the second single to great success. Of course Kylie performed this song at the Sydney 2000 Olympics closing ceremony. #3 SO NOW GOODBYE - dance-pop/disco track written by Kylie and really catchy. #4 DISCO DOWN - one of my favourites personally. This song has elements of dance-pop and disco and has a fantastic chorus. #5 LOVEBOAT - Kylie wrote this song and it is good but i personally never really got into it. It sounds like something you would listen to on a cruise ship holiday. #6 KOOCACHOO - another Kylie written song but alas I never got into this one either. Its not that there's anything wrong with it, its just that this track and "Loveboat" don't have that dance groove to them. #7 YOUR DISCO NEEDS YOU - definately a standout track not only on this album but in pop music in general. This track was written by Kylie and also co-written by Robbie Williams. It has disco elements in it and apparently has been cited as a gay anthem. This track was released in Australia only, as the fifth single. #8 PLEASE STAY - an interesting dance-pop track because it contains a obvious Latin sound in it. I think the latin-pop sound makes this a memorable track on the album. This track was written by Kylie and was released as the fourth single. #9 BITTERSWEET GOODBYE - a beautiful touching ballad. I think this ballad is necessary on the album. There is only soft piano music in the background and this allows you to sort of take a break from the dance-pop tracks previous to it. Kylie also wrote this song. #10 BUTTERFLY - this song is a very energetic Kylie written track that is mainly dance/house. #11 UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF LOVE - this song has the strongest disco sound of the whole album. I'm pretty sure this song was actually a cover of a 1970's disco song. I definately consider this to be a standout on the album. #12 I'M SO HIGH - Kylie wrote this song and it has a distinctive pop sound to it. Not so much dance but still effective. #13 KIDS - ah this song is fantastic. Her duet with Robbie Williams (who also wrote the song) is a sexy pop/rock edgy song and although a one-off on the album, it is so damn awesome. This was released as the third single and was a big hit. #14 LIGHT YEARS - the title track was also written by Kylie and contains elements of dance/disco/pop. A Very futuristic sounding track with spoken words by Kylie laced throughout. A great ending note for the album.
