As a grad student working late nights on my desktop at home, this lamp is exactly what I needed. It has four different lighting modes (reading, study, relaxation, bedtime), each with 5 levels of brightness, and a timer shutoff function (30 and 60 min), all controlled using the simple touch-sensor "buttons" at the base. It boasts at least 40,000 hours of life with a 1 year warranty. The lamp is also quite flexible with multiple points of pivot/rotation. At the base, the arm bends down/forward 90 degrees and rotates side-to-side 65 degrees in each direction. At the top, the head bends up 50 degrees, down 90 degrees, and even rotates side-to-side 45 degrees in each direction (viewing the lamp from the side as in the stock photo, the head tilts so that the light shines towards or away from you). It also has a USB charging port which I use to charge my cell phone.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this lamp and found something interesting. The Lightblade 1500S by Lumiy is actually a rebranding of the DL-65TH made by a Korean company called Diasonic. Furthermore, the more popular Satechi Smart LED is almost identical to the previous Lightblade 1500 (without the 'S') model, which doesn't have the rotating head. So if you were thinking of purchasing the Satechi, you should definitely get this Lightblade 1500S instead since it is an upgraded version at essentially the same price (at the time of this review).

All in all, I was seriously considering a variety of similar but cheaper options on Amazon, but ultimately the Lightblade 1500S seemed to have the highest quality with the best features. I'm definitely glad I shelled out a bit more for this awesome lamp!

I've had my Lightblade 1500 for a few weeks and it's perfect for what I need. I like the dimming features as well as the bi-color temperature options. The light output is very bright but soft...and of course can be dimmed to suit your eyes. The touch controls are built into the heavy base and not on the neck like some of the other competitors. This results in less stress and movement on the lamp neck. I do wish the neck could tilt both ways to prevent breakage if the lamp gets mishandled. That aside...I really like the Lightblade 1500's performance and style. It's a bit pricier than some of the other options....but it also packs more features and better looks into a sleek product. I'm also impressed with the customer service from the company. I received an email shortly after receipt of the lamp asking if the unit arrived properly with no issues. I look forward to seeing new products from Lumiy in the future.

I can only reinforce the positive reviews others have given this product. The range of light temperatures is useful - though I personally have little use for as warm a light as 1800 degrees for desk work. The capacitive controls step nicely through the range of light intensities and the CRI seems to be as high as advertised, with solid reds and accurate skin tone reproduction (a potential weakness of a even high CRI LED's . Print material is crisp and easy to ready, color rendering on photos is natural. Light dispersion is roughly 180 degrees from the top light bar - and be be easily maneuvered into a variety of configurations to direct light where it is needed and away from where it is not (e.g. a relatively dim laptop screen). The black version is glossy and a bit of a finger print magnet - a minor issue. Overall this is an excellent example of a product that wonderfully melds form with function at a price lower than competing products with inferior design elements.

I have had this light for about a two months now. I really like the variable light it provides. Originally I bought this to replace the lamp I used at my desk, but I liked so much that I moved it to my nightstand. I love the dimming setting so I can wake up in the middle of the night and not blind myself and not have to move around in the dark. It is not quite as bright and widespread as the 27 watt florescent floor lamp that I replaced with it but provides plenty of light just in a little smaller area. I also really like the USB charging port. I have used it every night without any problems.

I didn't realize how dark my workspace was until I got this lamp! Anyway, here's my list of pros and cons:

PROS:
1. Light covers a large area, but the stand only takes up a small area on your desk.
2. Four light settings of different "color/warmth/coolness," though I tend to favor the bluish light.
3. You can rotate the base of the lamp AND adjust the angle of the light.
4. Seems to be fairly well constructed.
5. USB - I was worried that people said the USB didn't provide any power, but I've facetimed for 3 hours with my iphone 6 plugged in, and the charge was at 100%, so... I guess it's working alright. Also, I've been using the USB port on the lamp to charge my ipad air 2, and it's been charging really well, so no complaints there.
6. Buttons are at the base of the lamp, not on the body like some other lamps that I considered purchasing.
7. My cats don't try to sleep underneath it. This means that the lamp is staying cool ;)
8. No sound gets emitted from the lamp.

CONS:
1. Price. I almost felt like an idiot purchasing a $99.95 product over the many cheaper alternatives that were readily available on amazon. I'm hoping that price=quality holds true. The only reason I decided to go for this product despite the price difference was the fact that it was NOT made in China. The box says that it's made in Korea, so I checked out a Korean version of amazon/ebay and they sell it for around the same price... so at least the seller isn't marking up the price when they sell it here in the US.
2. Color choices. I wish it was available in white!
3. Design - perhaps it would have been more convenient to have the USB insert on the side or front rather than the back. This is a minor issue.

The 1500S utilizes three strips of LEDs to customize both the brightness and color temperature of the output quite effectively. There are preset modes which turn on the different strips according to the mode. Once in that mode, you can adjust the brightness up or down several steps. I will use this light primarily on the warmest settings, as I have it set up as a bedside lamp. The coolest temperature output (calculator icon to symbolize "work") is a little to harsh next to the bed. The lamp will remember your last mode which is nice. I usually set it down to the lowest setting before I go to bed, then when I hit the power button (which has a low power LED illuminating it when off) it will come back on to the lowest setting. I do wish it would go to an even lower level, as the lowest setting is still bright if waking from pitch black.

All in all, I love the warm setting and customizability.

I bought this as a task lamp that I wanted to also act as a regular desk lamp. I work with electronics and very small parts, so a very bright light is important to me. Just as important, I need a light that can be turned on in the background to lessen eye strain as I work on paperwork or on my laptop, but it can't have glare. It seemed like an impossible list of requirements, but the Lumiy Lightblade performs these functions and more. I am really impressed with it. It has low light settings, several medium settings, and the brightest setting is perfect when I'm working with small parts. Best of all, it's LED so it doesn't get hot! No more halogen desk lamps for me. It has a clean modern look that is also functional. The heavy base keeps the lamp rock-steady and it even has a USB port so I can keep my phone charging while I work. I will be buying another Lightblade. I highly recommend this lamp.

Very good product. Range of light levels, CRI and range of color temperatures are very helpful for my work and epigenetic dimming for better sleep in the evenings. USB port is helpful if a little challenge to access where I've placed the lamp. Just leave your USB cable plugged in. Touch controls keep things clean. I expect with the durability of LED lamping this might be the last desk lamp you'll need to buy. Only other issue is esthetic and it's that the finish is a high gloss black. Considering the more matte finishes we see in electronics currently, it makes the lamp seem a little bit dated or downmarket. That said I'd still but another, but more so in a matte black finish.

I am revisiting and upgrading my review of this lamp to 5 stars because I have found it to be extremely useful in all kinds of work situations over time. At first, I did not find the light pool wide enough, but the pivoting lamp head makes up for that. I have also enjoyed the different light hues and the ability to vary brightness. I especially like the morning hue in the early a.m. (coffee cup icon) and find the night light helpful.

This was my first review: Pretty good lamp. Like the multiple brightnesses and it is clean-looking. My wish was for a lamp with a broader pool of light and this one provides a lit area that is fairly narrow.

Love this lamp. It has all of the features I prefer.
1. Very bright LEDs. Brighter than similar (cheaper) lamps I have tried.
2. A lamp “backbone” that can lean forward. This allows you to put more light out where you need it. Some competitive lamps only stand straight up. Awkward.
3. Touch controls on the base. Many other lamps only have controls on the upright “backbone”
4. Fully articulating lamp head for the utmost in lighting control. Some lamp heads only flip up or down. This one allows lamp head to be tipped to the side as well.
Yes this lamp is a bit more expensive but, in my case, I feel it was worth it.
