I recently ordered this magnifier for my mother and her coin collecting hobby. Sadly, when it showed up, it was not quite what we expected. First up, the unit we received was defective. The light would not turn on...and even smoked a tiny bit when we first powered it up.
Second, it was very cheaply made. There were scuffs and scratches around the housing, the batteries would not fit into their compartment properly, and the light was a regular small bulb (not LED, like many magnifiers).
In short, this is a very cheaply made unit.

I bought this on a whim while buying a couple of those little round coin magnifiers. Once I used this, I threw my new and old little circle magnifiers in the trash. Great light, larger magnifier surface. Much easier and much better than those little magnifiers for coins, stamps, any little treasure.
