4.0 out of 5 stars MAGNIFYING GLASS TOOL WITH LIGHT
THE HANDLE IS NICE TO USE BUT THE COVER FOR THE BATTERY CAN COME LOOSE AT TIMES. THIS HAPPENS WHEN YOU TRY AND TURN IT ON. THE LIGHT WORKS WELL BUT COULD BE BETTER SITUATED CLOSER TO THE GLASS. OVERALL IT WORDS FINE. WOULD I BUY ANOTHER ONE. NO, I MIGHT TRY ANOTHER COMPANY OR MAGNIFYING GLASS.

1.0 out of 5 stars If you want light, dont bother.
Button to work light was broken. It works for a magnifier, but the lighted part was flimsy at best. In the case of the one I got, the button just floats around if you fiddle with it enough, it will light sometimes. I guess you get what you pay for, it didnt cost enough for me to even bother sending it back.

I bought 2 of these. Oops! These "lighted" magnifying glasses are not lighted. The switch on both of them is so flimsy it cannot do the job. 1 of them arrived with a broken switch out of the package. The other broke when I tried to install the 2 AA batteries. Do NOT buy this product!!

I didn't buy mine via Amazon but is the same "Illuminated Magnifying Glass - Made In China" depicted in photo (as of 12/28/10). Overall Length: 6-5/8" Glass Viewing Diameter: 2-1/2"

In response to the previous reviews:
- The switch does "jiggle" somewhat but this does not impact its on/off function which is solidly on or off. If ones fingertips rest on the bottom battery access panel while turning on there is a chance the panel may slide open slightly from counter-leverage/torque action. A tighter grip helps prevent this from happening.
- The bulb could be brighter but doesn't seem to be replaceable with a brighter one. It seems to be permanently encased in it's housing. When it burns out I'll take a chance on damaging the housing in order to attempt replacing it.
- Price/Quality: It's currently being offered for $8.95. At that price I'll shop around on Amazon before ordering additional of this type/model because of the brightness issue...and a preference for a magnifying glass greater than this one's 2-1/2".

1.0 out of 5 stars Broken On Arrival, December 6, 2011

Extremely disappointed. Unfortunately I was late night shopping and didn't stop to look at the reviews when I purchased this. It is just junk, worse than a cheap children's toy! The button wasn't in place when I opened the package, and when I opened battery hatch and the light fixture just fell out. It was broken on arrival. Please no one else make the mistake of buying it. I fully intend to return it.

I got this and could not get the light to turn on. Young friend came and pressed on light bulb and it finally lit up. But I still have to manipulate it to get it to work. Not worth sending back.
