5.0 out of 5 stars Great Beginner Book, November 1, 2005

I wish someone had handed me this book the day I was diagnosed with Celiac. It would have been a great place to start. This book is a great source of humor, basic information, and hope. It shows that the gluten free lifestyle can be lived. It is also a great primer for anyone who needs to know more about the condition.

However, note that it is a PRIMER. By the time you've done research on Celiac, you already have this information. In such a case, look to this book for humor, recipes, and testimonials, but don't expect to learn anything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Celiac disease - I'm not alone :), December 1, 2011

I'm newly diagnosed with Celiac disease and I ordered several Gluten Free cooking and information books. I also purchased LynnRae Ries book "Waiter, Is There Wheat in My Soup?" I really liked these books. Also I shop at LynnRae's Gluten Free Bakery here in Phoenix called "Gluten Free Creations". Their GF food is ALL so wonderful! After eating the Udi's GF frozen bread from the grocery store, I was so excited to find her bakery. She knows how to make GF food taste good!!! You can purchase her bakery items online too. Just go to[...] Try her newest "Wunderful" white bread and "Wunderful" hamburger buns. They really are wonderful!

4.0 out of 5 stars All-American life-style, May 14, 2007
This review is from: What? No Wheat? A Lighthearted Primer to Living the Gluten-Free Wheat-Free Life (Paperback)
This was very amusingly, upliftingly written, but totally American. I need assistance in adapting my gluten-free existence to life in Spain where there is very little LOCAL information or availability of gluten-free products.
