One of the great cavalry charges in history. An idealistic young man who volunteers to fight in World War I as part of the Lighthorsemen, an Australian cavalry unit that served in the Middle East . Along the way, he meets a young British nurse and they fall in love. In the meanwhile, the Lighthorsemen are ordered to attack an enemy fortress in the middle of the desert.
