50,000 hours is what the manufacturer and distributor/seller state the 240 watt units will do, are rated for. That's not factual, that's a horribly optimistic estimate. In fact, in our communications, they've confirmed "known" issues. They offer a one year warranty, which most folks will need. One year continuous, however is just shy of 9000 hours, nowhere near 50K.

Better than 50% of my lights had mechanical failures within months of being received, some in just a few weeks and one unit died within a day. One had a power pack die, one had a fan die, two lost half the leds, one had full led panel failure, one has a cord socket problem and a few have defective issues with center lights where "burning" occurs.

Most of these lights were 2012 models, "240 watt" units, a few were 2011 models (240 & 180 watt units), one was a UFO that died near instantly (135 watt). The manufacture year/model does not seem to have any bearing on quality control. The new units' appearance and manufacturing materials change frequently even within a model year.

The retailer worked with me for a while on keeping many issues under control. We'd communicate. I'd open a unit up, t-shoot at their request and they'd have me install parts. In some cases we'd ship lights back and forth. They were fairly agreeable for a while, but even so it was sad to become a misled guinea pig investor for what amounts to the units' field testing.

Like chips, you can't have just one because a back-up light is required when one malfunctions, and better than 50% of them break in some way, often.

When I was alerted by/to other folks on the internet who are having issues, I contacted the retailer again. All units were within warranty at the time.

Perfect spectrum for flowering and vegetation as far as I am concerned. My plants are healthy and beautiful and will yield well. For 180 dollars you really cannot do much better. The three fans on top provide adequate cooling. It is very quiet and produces little heat itself. Expect 76-82 degrees or so with a fan and about a foot distance from plants and decent air circulation. In a small box properly set up and lined you will definitely notice a heat increase and will need minor ventilation, but let us be truthful this a far cry from most HPS lights and such and is indeed the future of indoor growing. You need next to nothing to cool your plants in a small box. Honestly, it is the best light around for this price. I would not hesitate to deal with this company. Great product.

The main selling point for me was the power savings of LED. A bunch of my buddies are sour on LEDs claiming that only an HID will work well in a grow room. Of course none of them have ever used an LED. There are 3 fans in the top to keep the lights cool and a hanger that attaches at 3 points. Very well built and quiet even with the fans.

Tested the light in a 36" by 18" closet for heat buildup, kept the lights on for 8 hours. The glass over the LEDs stayed cool to the touch, the closet heated up from 68 to 75 degrees F, on the floor 3 feet below the light a second thermometer did not heat up any more than the one above them, not bad at all! This is the first piece I purchased for my grow operation, will update once I get up and running on how the girls like the lights.

Update
Just finished my veg with this light. Supplementing it with some CFLs, 3 x 45W 6500K in veg and 3 x 42W 2700K in flowering. The light is doing a great job, but the proof will be in the bud production. Will report back when that is done!

It's freakin great and my energy bill and plants are proof. The light it self is very bright but best fit for 2x2 enclosed space with reflected surrounding for awesome results.

I have been on the LED growlight bandwagon for a while. Even before the LED community knew what specific wavelengths were required, I was trying with red and blue lights and limited success. Then I "upgraded" to the Chinese made 20W LED light panels. These were marginally better than my homemade setup but of a lower build quality.

Lighthouse Hydro has gotten this down to a science.

I first bought the 100W Lighthouse Hydro LED light. I was satisfied enough to purchase this 135W shortly after. This light gave my plants a big boost. LED technology has now progressed to the point that it is practical to grow plants with this as their primary light source. I highly recommend this quality light.

Having not grown since the days of fluorescent lights and foil walls, I was amazed at the bright light and coolness of this light. My small closet is now home to lovely budding babies with the stickiest goo I've ever seen. I have it set on a timer for 16 hours on and 8 off. It's just been a couple of months. The plants are short, but highly budded. I've been very happy with this purchase and recommend the Rope Rachet pulley system and 1X FoxFarm Ocean Forest organic soil. It has just the right mix for the best amateur crop.
