I currently have a 4sq ft grow tent with 2 90w ufo's and 1 blackstar 180w led flower panel. My plants were happy and doing well but nothing extraordinary. I added this light to the mix and now all my plants are exploding with tons of flowers. At 290 watts of actual led output my plants were happy now at 475 watts of led output I have hit the sweet spot and they're producing greater results then MH, sodium or t-5's have ever done for me. I've been experimenting with led lights for a while and from what I've learned so far is, you must use at least 1 watt per light. Using multiple 90 watt to 240 watt led lights is better than using 1 huge 600 watt led. You get a larger sweet spot. 90 watt led's are good for 2sq feet only. the 240 watt lights are good for 3' by 2', no more. 2' x 2' is better. And most importantly the height of your LED's play the biggest role. I keep the LED's 2 feet above the plants if I want them to stretch a bit and 12 to 16 inches if I want them to get bushier. I have noticed some stressing keeping the leds a few inches from the canopy plus at that height your only getting about 10sq inches of coverage. Led's are not cheap but they are far cheaper on the electric bill and I have NO heat issues. The temperature in my tent 2 inches below the lights are 78*. 76* at canopy level and 75* outside my tent. I have 2 clip on fans for ventilation only. For me Led grow lights are here to stay. I just wish they were priced better.

I bought mine about 2 months ago so my usage has been limited to veg growth for delicate indoor plants, but man... my plants are REALLY happy with this light. I'm pretty careful with my plants in general, but I've never seen such vibrant, uniform, and healthy green color in their foliage before. The light does put out some heat, pretty much the same if you put your hand to the exhaust on your computer, but I'm sure it's partly because my setup is inside a 2'x3' tent with an intake fan but no exhaust fan. It generally keeps the tent about 5 degrees higher than outside the tent but it's def tolerable for the plants. Pay attention to the height (10"-14" from the canopy) for max effectiveness. Can't wait for flowering because thats supposed to be the light's strong suit with all the red leds. Don't think twice, get this one!

Update: Last night half the LED array went out. I called Lighthouse today and an actual person picked up the phone after two rings and listened to my problem. They were very helpful and professional, and even told me how to trouble shoot my problem to see if it was just a faulty power supply (wasn't). Long story short, my replacement light is being UPSed to me with a return label to send back the defective light! Awesome!

I purchased 4 240w grow lights and within 6 months 3 of them had rows going out. I had to pay over $100 in shipping fees to get them repaired and guess what? 2 months later the 4th light went out. I can guarantee that your light will also go out within 1 year, and after that the warranty is over and you're done. Dont buy from this company. Most reviews are written shortly after the customer received the light.

Half the lights failed after 10 weeks into a grow and after the return date for the produce. As far as I can tell, you don't have to worry if you make a product that fails soon after the return date.

Power supply failed after less than 6000 hrs. If the diodes are supposed to last over 50,000 hrs the power supply should also. Spend your money on alternate lighting until the quality is improved or it will cost you another $50 every 15 months or so to keep it going. That's $50.00 if you make the repairs yourself. Sorry, could be a great light, but now it's just a one star.

Beware. These lights malfunction. A alot. Out of four lights I owned (now down to three) I had to send one back, replace a noisy fan, replace a fan power supply, and when after 11mo half the lights went out on a unit I was SOL when the light was sent back to late for warranty. So that's the tally four lights four malfunctions. The lights hang in my living room with low humidity and are rarely moved.

50,000 hours is what the manufacturer and distributor/seller state the 240 watt units will do, are rated for. That's not factual, that's a horribly optimistic estimate. In fact, in our communications, they confirmed "known" issues. They offer a one year warranty, which most folks will need. One year continuous, however is just shy of 9000 hours, nowhere near 50K.

Better than 50% of my lights had mechanical failures within months of being received, some in just a few weeks and one unit died within a day. One had a power pack die, one had a fan die, two lost half the leds, one had full led panel failure, one has a cord socket problem and a few have defective issues with center lights where "burning" occurs.

Most of these lights were 2012 models, "240 watt" units, a few were 2011 models (240 & 180 watt units), one was a UFO that died near instantly (135 watt). The manufacture year/model does not seem to have any bearing on quality control. The new units' appearance and manufacturing materials change frequently even within a model year.

The retailer worked with me for a while on keeping many issues under control. We'd communicate. I'd open a unit up, t-shoot at their request and they'd have me install parts. In some cases we'd ship lights back and forth. They were fairly agreeable for a while, but even so it was sad to become a misled guinea pig investor for what amounts to the units' field testing.

Like chips, you can't have just one because a back-up light is required when one malfunctions, and better than 50% of them break in some way, often.

When I was alerted by/to other folks on the internet who are having issues, I contacted the retailer again. All units were within warranty at the time.
